The very fact is that you need to acquire the bus comapny's permission in order to take photograph of buses in bus interchanges. By not doing so, you are not showing basic respect for the bus company and secondly, you are obviously going against their rules, so to speak.Originally posted by muziq bus:Thanx...these pictures are the Phase 2 of the CCK "major road makeover"....anyhow take
...people and bc stare as if they never see anyone take photo of interchange before...
The pic wif da 172 bus shows the new texture of the road....not more grey bricked-road...
The stationary CAC is TIB 792 E, ur favourite bus, and it has the "Give Way to Buses" ad...
Is it illegal in the eyes of bus companies to post pictures of bus interchanges??
In the first place, does it belong to the company? Doesn't it belong to LTA?
If its wrong, then probably taking photos of their buses is illegal too i presume...
Anyway, I posted the CCK Int pic so that other "peminat bas" can get an update on the situation on the big change happening there...not everyone are blessed with the opportunity to go around Singapore as they wish....
Bottomline is, issit illegal?
Yup... It is illegal unless you request permission from the public transport authorities, as nowadays the bus interchanges will be subjected to high security, it is just like immigration checkpoints.Originally posted by Zilchster:Is it illegal in the eyes of bus companies to post pictures of bus interchanges??

okay, so its illegal NOW to take photos of interchange...Originally posted by demag_ac:Off topic here, but since we are on this here, would like to clarify:-
"Public Transport Authorities" - means SBS Transit, SMRT and LTA?
"Request Permission" - means written permission or verbal permission?
Thank you.
"Public Transport Authorities" means SBST, SMRT, LTA & TransitLink, the companies of the public transport system. But for PTC, it is for public transport organisation that controls the public transport system.Originally posted by demag_ac:Off topic here, but since we are on this here, would like to clarify:-

It is to ensure the safety and security of our public transport system. The Transit Security are now guarding the MRT & the bus interchanges for any suspicious characters. If you are taking pictures of buses, my advisory, please seek permission first because as you had mentioned on this post, this is one of the common targets of terrorism.Originally posted by muziq bus:okay, so its illegal NOW to take photos of interchange...
but what about taking pictures of buses, considering the bus bombings..
It is LEGAL to take pictures with prior permission from SBST, SMRT, LTA, etc. If you post your pictures from 15 Nov onwards, on which the new rules stated, the moderators will remove it from your post (15 Nov onwards) without notice.Originally posted by cck_190:Okay, now i want to confirmation. Removing the photos you took at the 1st page is not necessary because the photos you took is before 15 Nov.![]()
Taking photos in bus interchanges: NO.Originally posted by cck_190:Okay, now i want to confirmation. Is it legal to take pictures of buses and bus interchanges? If not, should i remove the photos i took at the first page? I want a yes or no.![]()
It is necessary because the rule which the bus companies set (No photography in bus interchanges) have been existing long BEFORE 15 Nov.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Removing the photos you took at the 1st page is not necessary because the photos you took is before 15 Nov.![]()
Ok, done. I've deleted even those in volvo olympian's post. anyway, when did you guys found out about this rule? Afaik, it's always assumed that it would be better to ask before taking, not that it's necessary (well, that's what we assumed last year when the senior members were here)Originally posted by gohby:It is necessary because the rule which the bus companies set (No photography in bus interchanges) have been existing long BEFORE 15 Nov.
Oh is it? Did SBST & SMRTB really given you the approval to photograph ANYWHERE INCL. BUS INTERCHANGES?Originally posted by gohby:The best thing that you should do is to seek permission (either by letter or email) to the respective bus company. They will give you the permission most of the time. Afterwhich you can take photos of buses anywhere( Including bus interchanges) within the stipulated time. Isnt this much better?
100% NOT ALLOWED!!!Originally posted by gorby107:How about taking photos inside the bus???
Is it not recommended or others?????
Bus interchanges needs security to take place, am I right?Originally posted by SBS3688Y:Oh is it? Did SBST & SMRTB really given you the approval to photograph ANYWHERE INCL. BUS INTERCHANGES?
I recently wrote in to SBST & SMRTB for permission to photograph buses; BUT BOTH COMPANIES REJECTED MY REQUEST!!!!! (But SMRTB said its ok for me to photograph their buses along public roads). That's what I'm doing now..
