Do u all remember when SMRT's new livery was introduced officially on TIB 972?....its whole body was painted ryt? Nice ryt?
Yes n NO....nice if whole body is painted....have u all seen watz happening? Only the old yellow and orange part has been painted over wif red...wat about the yellowy white top part? It was painted white on TIB 972...but wat about now?...itz overall is now seen red and pale yellowy white...very disgusting..
Originally, i thought the paint had begun to wear off...but i saw TIB 633 G n 189 yesterday (4 July 05) more closely to inspect....the red part looked shiny and new...but the top part, u can see traces of the old "ENTRANCE" and "EXIT" sticker...diz means, it has not been painted over....

Another complain....some of its buses still do not have bus racks....they are not even the feeder services....anyway, even if they do have racks, dey would always be empty..
Anybody got the very first guide from TIBS...855.....got food guide and got tracing paper to help u check ur fare..colourful...3 to 5 yrs later, 61 guide was introduced.....anybody have extra of that 855?? -

Wake Up lar.. Reason that they took away the guides is that they are in the mist of REprinting ALL guides NOW.. SMRT quite protective bout their guides.. heard they shift BB int rack to face the office -

I wonder whether SMRT Buses will they change the brochure colour and design?? it looks rather ugly with the current design. da only ez way to get SMRT guides (BEFORE THE INTRO OF FARE GUIDE)...was at the rack at da interchange.....on da bus, chances are low...but 980 cant be found at the terminal...must try your luck on da bus......AND OF COURSE I NOE THE GUIDES WERE TAKEN AWAY...(B4 fare hiKE!)..but still, cck have a few... wake up lar and travel! -

It's disappointing that SMRT Bus is taking a bloody long time to solve problems.
But hey, they took a much shorter time to put guides for "Using your ez-link card correctly.." and "Fare increases" onto the racks, but not for the much needed route guides! sBs_boy should ask the management to wake up, not the people here.
There are more horrible things that only captains will know:
- Staff welfare: break times cut, even the water dispenser that broke down took them months to repair
- Fleet maintenance: bus parts such as reflection mirrors, bumpers need weeks to repair or replace. I see TIB 1111P hissing since May, till now nothing is done
- Fleet cleanliness: ever notice that our Bendies are getting dirtier? Floor has layers of dirt pressed onto it, the white aircon bracket on the Habits getting black . The number of cleaning staff was reduced from 6 to 2. -
By the way don't bother to feedback to their own management. Totally useless...
Reporting them to the newspapers may not even have an effect on them. Probably they will take months to reply.! -
Didnt know SMRT buses is that bad. When it was TIBS, was it better?

TIBS was much cleaner when they were still independant..talk about the focus on money as opposed to professionalism.
That IMHO, is what separates a developed nation from a wannabe. -

You should look at TIB 1091 M on 960. IMO it's one of the best evidence that SMRT Bus did not bother to clean it despite the initial complaint and followup mail to them. Can everyone lend strength by mass writing in about these dirty buses?
It's really a world of difference the way SMRT cleans their trains and buses. -

When this reprint took place, loads of guides were seen returning back to the racks INSIDE the buses as well as the racks at the interchanges. Here is where I doubt some of your claims that SMRT did not replenish the guide supply in the buses' racks because SMRT did. The reason why some claimed SMRT did not bother about the lack of guides even after repetitive complaints were simple.
1) They were not observant enough.
2) They dont take SMRT buses frequently enough. I am not saying those who do not live in SMRT areas are not unaware coz they might take SMRT buses more frequently even if they live in SBST areas.
The cut-off date for these second batch was May and June 2005, depending on the towns and depots producing them. I am more inclined to think that those who said that SMRT guides can still be found should be the ones that are supposed to "travel out" and see for themselves before posting fake info. SMRT has recalled ALL guides since the fare hike announcement. It would be irresponsible of them to continue distributing outdated info, and this they know. -

Okay people, enuf. The buses may be dirty, so unless you want to help SMRT and SBST clean the buses up, i suggest you tone down your complaints here. It would not make any difference.
Let's face it, both companies are trying very hard to earn more profits. If you want them to spend more money on cleaners etc, be prepared to fork out more money for your bus fares as additional costs would ultimately be handed down to passengers. Now, would YOU want that? Unless you tell me you guys actually do your part by helping to pick up litter in the buses and sweeping the collected dust away, I really dont see a need for this thread coz it's simple - it is biased against a company. I am not saying i'm supporting SMRT, it's just that the title of the thread itself goes to show that pple here think badly of the company, let alone the buses. Sigh. -
