CSS Doesn't have any website...all from SMRT Website..Originally posted by CAIX:I am very sad that 605 is withdrawn... and ANGRY too ! It is such a good service. I've seen in the CSS website that they said why do CSS 605 withdrawn:
"605 has been withdrawn due to poor demand"
"There are more than 5 service at Upper Thomson Road serving towards downtown, so, we do not need service 605."
"Lakeview Shopping Centre has been dimolished, so ridership is falling"

this is quite true.. even its low fares failed to attract more passengers.Originally posted by CAIX:I am very sad that 605 is withdrawn... and ANGRY too ! It is such a good service. I've seen in the CSS website that they said why do CSS 605 withdrawn:

Yes, you're right. But it is very cheap last time. Just 35 cents. If I am going to downtown, I will definitely take 605 because it is cheap, not crowded (even on peak hours) and short route too (Via Whitely road and steaven road).Originally posted by 105090:this is quite true.. even its low fares failed to attract more passengers.
i remmebered my CSS trips were mainly to kill time and to ride on NISSAN buses..
That time remember sit Sv 605 for bus ride only a few people sit the first and last time of it. So sad. I think they still can preserve it as it is cheap fares and many old people sit it which stay in the Bukit Merah that area. Now CSS the bus fleet is now all on Nissian UD only so sad.Originally posted by CAIX:I am very sad that 605 is withdrawn... and ANGRY too ! It is such a good service. Service 608 will not be renumbered anymore (it was renumbered from CSS 8.). Most likely the service will has to go, it's just a matter of time.Originally posted by dO|pH|n3 a.k.a JaMiE:As for I think, I think in the future they will either withdraw sv 608 or renumber it.
If they withdraw the last service for CSS means that those old people staying in Bukit Merah or Hong Lim that area would not have cheaper bus fare to bring them round to their destination for Sv 608. Then what will happen to the company, will it fold down and what happened to the bus fleet? All go to SMRT one? But this won't solve the shortage of buses in SMRT. Hope they won't withdraw the service.Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 608 will not be renumbered anymore (it was renumbered from CSS 8.). Yes, like 605, it won't renumbered the service anymore.Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 608 will not be renumbered anymore (it was renumbered from CSS 8.). Most likely the service will has to go, it's just a matter of time.
I hope not.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Sooner or later, i think it will be withdrawn as Service 16 duplicates quite an amount of its route. So is Service 196.
Yes, please do NOT withdraw CSS 608, PLEASE ! . These buses charged the CHEAPEST fare of all !!Originally posted by gorby107:If they withdraw what will happen to all those old poor people staying in the Bukit Merah area? They need a low-cost bus service to bring them round the island or else they need to take SBST or SMRT which is more expensive now after the price-hike and CSS is not being affected. Quite a few office workers from Shenton Way take the bus to their homes in East Coast, Marine Parade and Bedok as it is the cheapest of all compared to Sv10,14 and 196 by a few cents and if they CSS everyday after a period of time they can save up to a few dollars which could use to buy food or etc. I really hope they won't withdraw. If really let have a petition to sign of not having them to withdraw or fold down CSS ok?
SSB will has to close operation if it withdraws service 608. Anyway SSB is now under SMRT Buses.Originally posted by gorby107:If they withdraw the last service for CSS means that those old people staying in Bukit Merah or Hong Lim that area would not have cheaper bus fare to bring them round to their destination for Sv 608. Except the Maxwell Rd section. Other roads served exclusively by CSS included Armenian St (605) and Balmoral Rd (603). As for 607, it was the last connection between Moulmein Rd and Bencoolen St.Originally posted by cck_190:I know you all would miss 608 if it was withdrawn, but seriously, that service has to be withdrawn as the ridership is low, and also a waste of resources.Think of it this way, if 608 gets withdrawn, SMRT Buses will not have to waste resources. The buses could be transferred to add to the SMRT buses's fleet, and drivers would also be added to the SMRT staff...so many services are duplicating 608...
Noticed that all CSS services go to roads that are only served by them like what are stated above. But those places not a lot of people take but Sv 607 still got a lot of people take don't know why they withdraw it during special occasion like the 1st and 15th of lunar month and etc which those aunties and uncle go to the temple in Becoolen Street from Whampoa that area and Chinatown as it is cheap even though as there are Sv 139 and 131 go there from Whampoa but not Chinatown except for 186. So frustrated with them!Originally posted by iveco:Except the Maxwell Rd section. Other roads served exclusively by CSS included Armenian St (605) and Balmoral Rd (603).
