Hellooo? Excuse me? RIDERSHIP FOR CSS608 IS NOT LOW! Try to take 608 in the mornings & evenings, you have 2 to stand from East Coast Rd to Suntec, & from Shenton Way to Mountbatten. Please do not comment coz there are a lot of pple who utilise this svc to get to work & tt includes me! I have been taking the svc since i wuz a kid. The ridership is definitely sustainable or else bus fares would not increase! I agree with Acx1688 I only saw this type of situation for a few times during peak periods. Sometimes during non-peak periods which I take it the seats were almost fully occupied! The bus freqeuncy is about 6-8mins which is very fast and every bus that comes will sure have people in the bus and not don't have at all one which is rare. They take Sv 608 to work and home as it is cheaper than SBST and SMRT even though they raised their fares with effect from August. Keep CSS alive!Originally posted by Acx1688:Hellooo? Excuse me? Of course i don't take 608 daily, but i do take quite a lot of times already. from what i see, 608 is only usually full during morning and evening...not so much of the normal hours...Originally posted by Acx1688:Hellooo? So I say they should not the service as they are still some commuters taking their buses like the school children, office workers and all the ah jeks and ah sohs are not they commuters to take the bus which they still can earn some profit from them and better than not earning from that route anymore by withdrawing it. I like CSS, the buses and its livery.
But I somehow got the feeling that CSS608 may be withdrawn in the near future, looking at the way CSS withdrew its services one by one. Imagine one company running only one service??(though its a subsidiary of SMRT Corp)
If CSS 608 were to be withdrawn someday, I believe at least part of its route may be replaced by SBST or SMRTB. But I'll be very sad should this day come. -

I think that they are making a loss and not profit so they increase the fare as it has maintained the low fare for quite a few years. Now it is the time for them to raise after SBST and SMRT did that. Nice idea, but SMRT probably would make 608's price become the price of their own buses. They want only $$$, not Singaporean's hearts and comfort on their buses.

I missed CSS 3...used to run past Raffles Girls, near SCGS by Orchard Road and MGS at Mt Sophia. We schoolboys used it to meet all our girlfriends...

If demand is that low, there won't be a fare hike and it would have been one of the firsts to be withdrawn.
