I can forsee a time when minor operators like Tong Tar or West Point may be forced to pool their resources.Originally posted by sbst275:Pte Bus sector is now in a critical time, either consolidte or many closes down
Well, many have been accquired by Comfort Group bef Comfort and DelGro mergerOriginally posted by iveco:I can forsee a time when minor operators like Tong Tar or West Point may be forced to pool their resources.
Was Chin Lin acquired before or after the merger? Also, if I'm not wrong, Comfort buses now serve Nan Hua Primary. Seems like the fleet owner sold his company to them (fleet rego still the same, but different livery).Originally posted by sbst275:Well, many have been accquired by Comfort Group bef Comfort and DelGro merger
I don't think Tong Tar Transport and West Point Transport are minor operators.Originally posted by iveco:I can forsee a time when minor operators like Tong Tar or West Point may be forced to pool their resources.
If you don't know what you're speaking about, please keep your mouth shut.Originally posted by iveco:Tong Tar is too insignificant, IMO. Only a matter of time before they get "eaten up" by another entity. If I'm not wrong, Chin Lin is now under ComfortDelgro.
WDL Tpt also includes Trans-United Corp. I still remember TUC having ambitious plans to become the city-state's 3rd bus fleet operator when it was first established.
Anyway, I don't think we can have many bus operators because a smaller city like Perth has only 3 contractors for bus operations.
Those company are renowned in local Private transport industry i should say,I don't see them withdrawn/merged or to be sold to other party even in 10 years time.Originally posted by iveco:I can forsee a time when minor operators like Tong Tar or West Point may be forced to pool their resources.
Tong Tar insignificant,Wake up boy,The company are still going strong and have established since the day i was born.My Uncle drive their buses.Originally posted by iveco:Tong Tar is too insignificant, IMO. Which part of Australia? Surely not Perth because I haven't seen anything resembling a Hispano-bodied DAF at my location.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Anyway, the CSS DAFs are now retired from revenue services. 10 of the DAFs are now at Australia.![]()
u wrong man. they gone to New Zealand. a few go to UK as well. None gone to Australia.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Anyway, the CSS DAFs are now retired from revenue services. 10 of the DAFs are now at Australia.![]()

hahahahahahahahahHEEHEEHEEHEEHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Originally posted by iveco:Hey, I've got an idea. How about farming out the PSR route group to WDL Tpt for a trial period of one year? If they are successful, they could have all the BNDEP routes.
Anybody knows why they were sell it to overseas??? Is it their bus life span reaches the maximum in Singapore so they sell it away??? Correct me if I am wrongOriginally posted by CSS302T:u wrong man. they gone to New Zealand. a few go to UK as well. None gone to Australia.
DAF SB 220 LT (Hispano) were first used by TIBS in 1990 than to CSS in 1996. First deployed on 950, 951 & 952 (TIB391D-TIB424T). Consider posting on 'Nostalgia on Buses' thread.Originally posted by sinicker:the buses quite new, rite?
the EDS is a good thing. the number appears on the side of the road that is near the pedestrian pathway(right side ). this allows us to see the number of the service easily w/o having to peer hard and see the bus service no. if it were on the left side, like all EDS displays now.
was hoping that all new buses wud have the number on the EDS displayed on the right for ease of looking at it. but well, my hopes quite far-fetched?
Yes, they are already 15 years old, and basically SBS introduced their air-conditioned fleet (albeit alot more downgraded from the coaches they ran) to rival the DAFs. The DAFs are scattered around the world, to the UK and NZ as previously mentioned.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:DAF SB 220 LT (Hispano) were first used by TIBS in 1990 than to CSS in 1996. SSB with its only CSS608 is NOT A LOSS-MAKING SERVICE/written off service. The bus is still packed fully during the morning & evening loads with healthy loads during off-peak hours. Please do not make unwarranted remarks about a service if you do not take the service regularly.Originally posted by 105090:CSS may even be seen as a loss-making service/ written-off service
Recently they raised their bus fares is it because want to follow suit with the decision of SMRT and SBST or others like petrol prices are more expenisve or others????Originally posted by Acx1688:SSB with its only CSS608 is NOT A LOSS-MAKING SERVICE/written off service.
