I understand tt it's a decision made by SMRT their parent one reason is to curb the soaring oil prices.Secondly, to increase revenue.Originally posted by gorby107:Recently they raised their bus fares is it because want to follow suit with the decision of SMRT and SBST or others like petrol prices are more expenisve or others????
Now their bus fleet are being reduced(some being sell, some given to SMRT buses) and it is now difficult to introduce new service with lesser busOriginally posted by Apex-LW'21:BTW, why don't SSB introduce new CSS services, since 4 were withdrawn from 2001-2004?![]()
CSS 602 withdrawn in 2001, CSS 603 & 607 withdrawn in 2003 and CSS 605 withdrawn in 2004.
Its first withdrawal was in 1988 with CSS 609 ceases operation.
Maybe to retire the existing Nissan Diesel U31RCN fleet.Originally posted by Windy_hates_B10TLs:Apex,
I'm sorry, but you make no sense! CSS has been scaling its operations down for many years, with the constant withdrawal of its services. Why would it want new buses when it only runs one service??!!?? It is better to be thought a fool, than to speak up and confirm all doubt.
DAF buses now regrouped under VDL. The website you provided is for the truck manufacturer.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:
this comment, k.. look out for more "replies" laterOriginally posted by sinicker:i really hope SMRTB wouldnt make a decision to w/draw 608.
There's no such service called CSS 609. The service was then known as CSS 9.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Its first withdrawal was in 1988 with CSS 609 ceases operation.
I find this policy really funny. If CSS withdraw routes (or should I say, the route), they effectively cease to exist.Originally posted by SBS9818A:CSS is not allowed to add routes, it can only withdraw them.
Oh I see, it might be under PTC rules regarding CSS services.Originally posted by SBS9818A:CSS is not allowed to add routes, it can only withdraw them.
So if any new buses purchased for CSS, it will also be transferred to SBST.Originally posted by 5454:It would be better if SMRT would give up 608 to SBST.![]()
If like that no more cheap bus fares alreadyOriginally posted by 5454:It would be better if SMRT would give up 608 to SBST.![]()
But CSS under SMRT wat?Originally posted by gorby107:If like that no more cheap bus fares already
Then what will happen to their bus fleet give awat to SMRT???![]()
Please be aware that the coffin with CSS's name is ready. Only time will tell when the hammer will strike to shut it for good. As far as CSS is concerned, it is finished, habis, kaput. There will be no new buses, no new routes, no transfers. When 608 is withdrawn, the remaining CSS buses will be gone too. So while 608 is still running, take lots of photos and rides.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:If CSS 608 is going to be withdrawn, the SSB operation will be closed.
Then their remaining bus fleet would be sell, scrapped or give away to SMRT?????Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Please be aware that the coffin with CSS's name is ready. I will sadly missed all CSS buses when 608 is going to be withdrawn in the near future as CSS offers cheaper prices...Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Please be aware that the coffin with CSS's name is ready.
