BTW, why don't SSB introduce new CSS services, since 4 were withdrawn from 2001-2004?
CSS 602 withdrawn in 2001, CSS 603 & 607 withdrawn in 2003 and CSS 605 withdrawn in 2004.
Its first withdrawal was in 1988 with CSS 609 ceases operation. -

AFAIK, CSS had left with Nissan U31 RCN with the DAFs from TIBS were retired this year. -

I'm sorry, but you make no sense! CSS has been scaling its operations down for many years, with the constant withdrawal of its services. Why would it want new buses when it only runs one service??!!?? It is better to be thought a fool, than to speak up and confirm all doubt. -

CSS is not allowed to add routes, it can only withdraw them.

Please be aware that the coffin with CSS's name is ready. Only time will tell when the hammer will strike to shut it for good. As far as CSS is concerned, it is finished, habis, kaput. There will be no new buses, no new routes, no transfers. When 608 is withdrawn, the remaining CSS buses will be gone too. its very simple.. you all know why were many banks merged within the last 8 years or so? think Keppel, Tat Lee, OUB, POSB Hong Leong etc
now think of the 1973 bus companies merging..
these are ways to stamp out "competition" and also, rationalisation, and also to reduce bus operators to a reqasonable number, proportion to the size of singapore..
still, CSS motive was a park and ride scheme years ago, and when that scheme fails, so does the presence of CSS, and many ppl believed their withdrawal from Singapore is long overdue, delayed by SMRT aquisition of CSS..
2 or 3 companies, the money generated still be the same..
wonder why DBS still keeps "POSB" and why SMRT still keeps "CSS"? it could had simply make CSS into a SMRT service -

CSS is now under SMRT!!
There are 23 Nissan Diesel U31RCN/Fuji Heavy Industries body (With Fuji AC) left on CSS fleet, all serving CSS 608.
