Can the person be fined? I thought the fine only applied to littering.Anyway, if you are on medication, you should be allowed to consume water with your pills.
Is there any signboard saying that food and drink are prohibited on the bus and the penalty is $100?Originally posted by muziq bus:i recall dat sbst bc abide to da rule as i had saw many sbst bc demanding the passenger to dispose their food before boarding...
In my opinion, you should advice them not to eat on the bus, for the comfort of other passengers.Originally posted by carbikebus:For me,I will advise them not to litter in the bus if they're keen on eating or drinking.Mostly will packed the rubbish in plastic bags upon alighting.

For the comforts of other passengers, I advise you to stop this habit.Originally posted by CAIX:Please don't blame me...
I also have the habit to eat in the bus but the food I ate has no crumbs so it will not dirty the bus (eg. Bread) I will not drink in the bus as it might be spilled.
There should be strict enforcement. How to enforce strictly is up to the bus companies.Originally posted by yoongf:So... as bus travellers..
shd there be enforcement for no eating? What shall the penalty be?
Get off the bus? Fine? CWO?
Got, @ bus int...Originally posted by samtlk:There is a sign saying eating & drinking is prohibited...but no fines

Dif now... Now can eat medicated chewing gum in publicOriginally posted by yoongf:Chewing gum is not banned outright in Sg. Only the import, distribution, sale is restricted.
Can still bring in personal consumption quantities.
A public bus is no different from a public street. Whatever can be done legally on a public street, can be done on a public service bus.
Note, unlike going into a GV cinema, there is no special terms and conditions when boarding a public service bus.
If dun agree with the policy.. shd feedback to LTA about expecting higher standards on bus public transport.
I think we are all allowed to exercise some flexibility. It's reasonable to drink PLAIN WATER from your bottle on a bus, so long as you dun spill.Originally posted by iveco:http://www.sgforums.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=143531
