Sv 58 is very unlikely to be fully controlled by AMDEP. In any case, its parent is Pasir Ris Route Group.Originally posted by Acx1688:IMO,as all present Bishan buses are AMDEP ctrl, probably will be AMDEP Full controlled as there are lotsa spare buses:
SBS82P
...
SBS553Y
However, some of the above mentioned buses will cut to Sv 58[probably joint ctrl w BNDEP], but there's still enough for sv 58 wic will probably have 10 buses in fleet based on route & frequency. For ARBP, there's only SBS1930K, SBS1927X & SBS2593T[feeders from Bukit Merah Int] left. However, there are MKIIIs for consideration SBS818J, SBS817L, SBS828E, SBS829C or MKIIs... but i still tink Sv 58 AMDEP ctrl...
Isn't that a waste of resources?Originally posted by ^tamago^:Note that they have to re-do the NDP Route Diversion bus stop notices again. How many revisions do they wan?!
57 don't come at the right time. Should it be introduced another two weeks later on 15 Aug, it will not have to face the NDP diversion problem.Originally posted by iveco:Isn't that a waste of resources?![]()
Originally posted by SBS9889U:The notices for these services are up at all the bus stops, however, there is NO BERTH for 57/58 at BISHAN INT. The berth originally used by 53/56 has been removed due to construction works.
Hopefully service 57 will take over some load from service 100 along this part of the route.Originally posted by my@jas:There's duplication of this route with svc 100 from beach road to alexandra rd. do u'll think the passenger load will be affected on any of the buses?
I saw a paper covering the berths when i was there.Originally posted by Zilchster:The berth for 57 is at the current 54/55 berth.
The berth for 58 is at the current relocated 53/56 berth.
The areas covered by 57 arre not suitable for DD. 56 may retain its DD fleet or some of them may go over to 58.Originally posted by WindyDay:While it's a good thing that duplication of services offers more choice, and possibly a higher frequency, I can't help thinking it may result in SBST 56 not using DDs anymore, esp. the new VSOs. ( I am specifically referring to SBST 57 going to Toa Payoh, and then heading to Beach Road which is near to Marina Square as well.....similar stops as SBST 56.)
In case you don't know, services 56 and 57 ply a different route in Toa Payoh town. Service 56 from Bishan and Toa Payoh takes a shorter route to Sungei Rd and vice-versa, passengers travelling between these two places would prefer service 56, expect the service to retain its DDs.Originally posted by WindyDay:While it's a good thing that duplication of services offers more choice, and possibly a higher frequency, I can't help thinking it may result in SBST 56 not using DDs anymore, esp. the new VSOs. Serangoon Ave 3 (between Lor Chuan and Ave 2) is not suitable for DDs as well.Originally posted by iveco:The areas covered by 57 arre not suitable for DD. 56 may retain its DD fleet or some of them may go over to 58.
Dun quite understand this.. Which stretch of Bt Timah Rd is serve by SMRT only? SV 170 serves the whole stretch of Bukit Timah road.Originally posted by sbst275:Looks forward to Sv 57 in 2 days time....
End of SMRT's domination @ that stretch of Bt Timah they dominate

DOn't forget 67 & 171 were once operated by SBS in the past.Originally posted by tranquilice:He actually means:
In the recent past, Dunearn Rd/Bt Timah Rd between Whitley Rd and Newton Circus had more SMRT services than SBST services. There were 4 SMRT services - 67, 171, 700 and 960 while there were 2 SBST services - 66 and 170. But with services 48 and 57 plying here, the number of SMRT and SBST services here are now equal, which ends the "SMRT domination" which is the terms he used to describe.
I remember that.Originally posted by iveco:DOn't forget 67 & 171 were once operated by SBS in the past.

wow, now besides 232, there will be another svc plying Lor 6. More buses should be diverted to Lor 6, cos Lor 4 is too pampered.Originally posted by tranquilice:In case you don't know, services 56 and 57 ply a different route in Toa Payoh town. Got such thing as pampered meh?? Maybe that stretch have different needs or that some svc just cant use other road?Originally posted by No_10_Tomas_Rosicky:wow, now besides 232, there will be another svc plying Lor 6. More buses should be diverted to Lor 6, cos Lor 4 is too pampered.
