Mostly on chairs. However, the Malaysia Lances has a few yellow, blue... colour stripes in the middle of the chair.Originally posted by gorby107:You mean the seats or others????
all models taken. maybe one day we can have a spotting day and catch all the special buses in a day since the timings are pretty much known.Originally posted by sinicker:hello forumnites of Sg Buses.

hmmx.. maybe it'll be another one-to-one introduction of services? like when SBST introduced 168, SMRT introduced 969. SBST introduced 161, SMRT introduced 965. SBST introduced 39. SMRT introduced 966.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Is SBST allowed to start any services at Sembawang Int together with the SMRT buses that will be amended on the first few weeks of operation? If so, i would suggest a new CT38 that goes from Sembawang to Chinatown(maybe via Yishun) as Sembawang seriously lacks an express services to the CBD area.
If this was the case, SBST will introduce CT38 while SMRT may introduce a semi-express service(like 190) to Marina Centre?Originally posted by sinicker:hmmx.. maybe it'll be another one-to-one introduction of services? like when SBST introduced 168, SMRT introduced 969. possible.. how about other places besides Marina Centre? i think SMRT would want Sembawang residents to board a bus to Yishun and take 857 instead.Originally posted by SBS9889U:If this was the case, SBST will introduce CT38 while SMRT may introduce a semi-express service(like 190) to Marina Centre?
theres red tape concerning the proposed CT38.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Is SBST allowed to start any services at Sembawang Int together with the SMRT buses that will be amended on the first few weeks of operation? Can you elaborate on the highlighted phrase?Originally posted by SBS9889U:Duplication with MRT? If that is so , almost all the CT Services and some other services would have long ago duplicated with MRT. For the fares, if SBST decides to have CT services to places like Pasir Ris, Boon Lay and maybe Sembawang and Woodlands, they could charge two different types of fares.
For example, for CT8, CT18 and CT28 that is nearer to Chinatown, the fares could remain and if the extended CT Services were to come true, the fares could be like $2.00 for adults and $1.20 for students. My suggestion for CT38 is because SBST had good ridership for CT8 in the north.Originally posted by tranquilice:Can you elaborate on the highlighted phrase?
I don't think SBST will be interested to introduce a CT service from a SMRT area. Also, I don't think SMRT will introduce a express service from Sembawang to Chinatown, I hope you know why Express 520 was withdrawn.
FYI, CT svcs also have young passengers like me who goes to Chinatown regularly as it is only around 15 mins from Jln Eunos to Chinatown(even if i have to change bus like Sv15 to get CT18 ), faster than any other svcs and CT18's fare stage is 6.5 at Jln Eunos and 20+ when it reaches Chinatown. The others i dont know.Originally posted by SBS3572Y:if u look at SBST travel guide, fare stages breakdown is given for all flatfare svcs as well, including CT svcs. a rough count indicates all 3 svcs to have a farestage of 13.5~18.0, or a ezlink fare of $1.86 between the towns and chinatown. this SBS round the fare down to $1.80 flat for adults, and $1 for child/senior citizen.
and yes, Clementi, AMK, Bedok are mature estates. tho Yishun, Boon Lay, TAM also qualifies.. no use bringing CT services to a young town. and remember, Ct services target crowd is senior citizens going to chinatown.
unlike me, who usually takes CT8 to get to the city fast, but not shopping at chinatown![]()
Good ridership on CT8 in Ang Mo Kio doesn't mean your proposed CT38 will definately has good ridership in Sembawang, because Sembawang is a newer and smaller town than Ang Mo Kio and so the demand from Sembawang town to Chinatown is expected to be lesser compared to Ang Mo Kio town.Originally posted by SBS9889U:For example, for CT8, CT18 and CT28 that is nearer to Chinatown, the fares could remain and if the extended CT Services were to come true, the fares could be like $2.00 for adults and $1.20 for students. Regarding 520. I was flipping through my old 520 guide and it appears that 520 had served Victoria St which takes up quite a lot of time. Also, the fares was like normal express fares, which was more expensive and there wasnt any discounted fares for Snr citizens and students. FYI, my relative lives in Yishun and took 520 a few times and ceased taking it and took back 851 as 520 does not save a lot of time and it was very expensive when bringing my cousin along to Chinatown. On top of that, 520 was a ONE-Directional Peak Hour Svc and it happens that the Chinatown area isnt that crowded during the operation hours of 520 and there was 851. Hence, sadly, it was withdrawn.
520 could have been maade a trunk service like 963 if TIBS then wanted.
Alright. IMO, there is a bigger need for CT Services to serve Boon Lay/Jurong East.Originally posted by tranquilice:Good ridership on CT8 in Ang Mo Kio doesn't mean your proposed CT38 will definately has good ridership in Sembawang, because Sembawang is a newer and smaller town than Ang Mo Kio and so the demand from Sembawang town to Chinatown is expected to be lesser compared to Ang Mo Kio town.
The reason Tibs gave for withdrawing Express 520 was that passengers can take the trains or alternative service 851.
i would like to stress again...ANY bus company can have a route from ANYwhere as long as there is a demand....so a SMRT "territoty" onli means there is a majority of SMRTB svcOriginally posted by SBS3572Y:firstly, its SMRT "territory"
BUT.. REMEMBER that they need to pass through 2 of their own areas before they are allowed to pass through ONE of their rivals area..Originally posted by alex_cai92:i would like to stress again...ANY bus company can have a route from ANYwhere as long as there is a demand....so a SMRT "territoty" onli means there is a majority of SMRTB svc
Exactly why I posted recently that 23 could be used as possible cover for 81/103.Originally posted by SBS9889U:For my suggestions, maybe the CT38 and so on can be operated only during the CNY period to ensure good loads. For TAM, since 81 was shortened, there isnt anymore direct bus from TAM to Chinatown. Boon Lay has 174 but i takes a very long time. For Yishun, 851 isnt that bad but there could be improvements.
Service 966 passes thru one of their own area (Woodlands) before passes thru two of their rivals' areas (Eunos and Marine Parade). The remaining sector of the routes are mainly on expressways.Originally posted by sBs_boy:BUT..
