After being away for quite a long time,I will strongly advise the people here [b]not to take photos of Airliners/Miltary Fighters/Aircraft landing at Air Bases. My friend almost got himself into trouble when he was shooting the Eurofighter Typhoon when it arrived at Singapore. So if you don't wanna get into trouble, best way is not to take photo of them unless they are on public display.Even at next year PLAB open house only Lenses up to 105mm are allowed.

Volvo BusesÂ’ first city bus order in India
Volvo Buses is taking its next step in India on the city bus market, which is one of the worldÂ’s largest. The company has received its first order for 25 city buses from Bangalore.
In just over three years VolvoÂ’s intercity coaches have already captured the minds of Indian bus passengers. There are currently around 750 Volvo coaches on the roads between various cities in India and Bangladesh. Volvo has become the dominant maker of luxury intercity coaches, which has strengthened VolvoÂ’s brand. Passengers donÂ’t ask to buy a luxury ticket, they ask to buy a Volvo ticket.
”India is fast becoming one of our key markets,” says Rune Lundberg, Senior Vice-President Region International. “The country is already among Volvo Buses’ top ten markets in the world.”
This progress will be even stronger as the company is now entering the city bus market. This market has annual sales of 10,000-12,000 city buses each year.
The first order is for 25 buses from the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation city bus operator. The buses will be delivered at the end of 2005 and start of 2006.
The chassis is the Volvo B7RLE and will be assembled at VolvoÂ’s factory in Bangalore. It has a 7-litre engine that meets the Euro 3 emission regulations. The body is built on the same design as the Volvo 8700, which is currently used in Europe.
”Our intercity coaches have already changed the way people perceive luxury coaches in this country,” says Akash Passey, head of Volvo Buses in India. “Now Volvo city buses have the ability to do the same in Indian cities – providing sustainable public transport solutions, that keeps pace with the rapid development and growth our cities face’.

A side note, Ashok Leyland has its own version of the Lynx. A really watered-down version of the ones from England, though.

Well, the B9TLs are Euro-III compliant. It won't be too long before we see them in service (at least for now).Originally posted by hseochin:Right now i don't think there's any Euro-3 heavy weight buses in Singapore in public service yet ? May have some with private operators as coaches.
Euro-2 models like CBC 1725 or IBC 1632 are overall deemed fine enough for the forseable time being in 3rd world markets & even in Singapore, where the vast majority of the various makes & models currently here are not higher than Euro-2.

When i went there, was diverted to cars forum instead !!
BTW, i'm looking up the taxi forum because i've recently seen some LWB white colour taxis in Singapore & want more info on them, like vehicle make/model, taxi operator & fares etc. Looks like Skoda or VW hope they all use new generation charged-cooled common-rail diesels !
Those who tried these new taxis, i'll like to hear your feedback.
