Amazing trip on Service 61, TIB555Z
2316hrs-Boarded the bus at South Bridge Rd. Bus approached stop at high speed, apparently after racing a Subaru Impreza and Nissan Silvia S15. The bus was ahead of the cars until it reached the bus stop. They started off at a traffic light about 200 metres away.
Around 2326hrs-Left the bus stop opposite Seah Imm Terminal at Habourfront, SBST service 143 (SBS308P) was at the junction. 555Z took the second lane and stopped slightly ahead of 308P. When light turned green, both BCs stepped hard on the accelerators. Within 200 metres, the SMRT bus was ahead.
Around 2345hrs, SBST service 165 (SBS9239X) stopped at the junction in front of Henry Park Primary School. 555Z did not stop at the stop at Cold Storage Jelita and when the BC saw 9239X 'blocking', he turned into the second lane while still at high speed (40-50kph) and overtook 9239X just as the lights turned green (great timing for the lights) and turned again sharply into the left most lane, nearly startling 9239X BC.
2358hrs-555Z reached the stop opposite Church of St Mary the Angels, and I alighted.
Conclusion-The best and most dangerous night ride I had on svc 61, ranking the second was on TIB1094E on 7th July 2006, see in the daily rides. -

SMRT 190 TIB1034D has an orange EDS, the same color as SBST's EDS saw it yest aft at somerset area...

Applications to increase bus and MRT fares will be submitted by next Tuesday to the Public Transport Council for approval. This is due to increasing diesel cost and that the previous increase, done in July '05, was not enough to cover this increase in costs.
Any fare adjustments, if approved, will take effect on 1st of October 2006. -

I agree with Ms Yvonne Goh in her letter, "The tango of service" (Aug 2). To receive good service is to be a nice customer first: How simple is that?
I have been working every Saturday and Sunday at my brother's chicken rice stall for three years. The customer experience has been shocking.
Some arrogant customers throw money at us and make us run after it as the wind blows the notes away. Some get angry and spew vulgar words when we tell them to join the queue.
Once, a customer yelled over his $2 rice dish: "I am giving you business, it is only right that I demand that you treat me like a king!"
This perennial discussion about service is actually not about service; it is truly a reflection of how we Singaporeans treat each other every day.
Some people lack respect for those we think are inferior or less educated than us.
Also, I've found that some Singaporeans have preconceptions of those who work in the service or food industry — that they are not on par socially with those who require the service.
I salute my bother, who is patient and still greets some nasty customers with a smile. His belief is that it will melt their heart and, some day, they will treat him more humanely. -

There was once i took a NR home.. the bus suspension had something wrong.. whenever the bus turn at a junction, the bus feel like almost toppling over.. wah liew, i was thinking like, at each turn, will turn bus fall on its side.. Damn scary man..
