Originally posted by demag_ac:As for the R87, I am also not sure what are the differences in Chassis, but I have seen differences between the bodywork. TIB 281 to TIB 300 have black headlights cover, similar to SBS' U31SCN. TIB 301 to TIB336 have silover headlight covers. The body for them is also slightly different between the 2 batches.
Yeah, you are correct. But I don;t think the R87 are taxis, but who knows?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The R87 might not be buses at all. They could have been taxis instead. Anyway, just by having different shaped headlights or slightly different bodyworks does not justify a drastic difference in model codes.
then how do u explain them using private buses instead of SBS buses? They were still around even after the Jurong Industrial Services were amended.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:If you see the White Plate at a bus stop around Boon Lay Gdns (with Svc No 247A, 249A, 250A & 251A printed on it), it is not SCHEME B Svcs but AM Peak & PM Peak Svcs to Jurong Industrial Estate. There was a terminal last time: Boon Lay Gardens Ter.
Svc 622, 623, 624 & 625 did serve at Boon Lay Gardens.
It might be confusing because of the white plates.Originally posted by samtlk:then how do u explain them using private buses instead of SBS buses? They were still around even after the Jurong Industrial Services were amended.
I'm not talking about the plate..I'm talking about the buses...I've seen them before...all were using buses from a private bus company...unless you're telling me SBST out-sourced those routes.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:It might be confusing because of the white plates.
SVC 247A, 249A, 250A & 251A are JIS (operates AM & PM Peak periods), operated by SBS Transit, didn't appear in TL guides.
SVC 622, 623, 624 & 625 are Scheme B Buses, similar to JIS.
Scheme B uses Dennis Dart & TATA buses.Originally posted by samtlk:I'm not talking about the plate..I'm talking about the buses...I've seen them before...all were using buses from a private bus company...unless you're telling me SBST out-sourced those routes.
So what buses did SV247A/249A/250A/251A used since u say they are operated by SBS?Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Scheme B uses Dennis Dart & TATA buses.
MB OF1113 buses (1971 Soon Chow), regos around 40xx & 41xx, ex-SH plate.Originally posted by lemon1974:So what buses did SV247A/249A/250A/251A used since u say they are operated by SBS?
Yes, still operating, using COMFORT BUS, actually meant for CSS.Originally posted by iveco:Doesn't 625 operate between Boon Lay Garden and Shenton Way these days?
Svc 625 was left in Scheme B, I didn't see 623 now.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Services 247A, 249A, 250A and 251A were operated by SBS in the beginning. This was reflected in the SBS Bus Guide and they were still in operation up until 1986 at least. They were no longer listed in the 1988 guide so they must have been withdrawn by SBS within these 2 periods. However, Scheme B buses continued to operate these 4 services and they were still in operation long enough for them to be re-numbered as 622, 623, 624 and 625 respectively, as per the LTA policy. I don't know if they are still in operation today but chances are they are probably gone already.
So did SBS or SBST operate these 4 services? U mention that they are using 1971 Soon Chow Buses, but u also mention that they are operated by SBST?Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:It might be confusing because of the white plates.

Yes, you are correct. Those 4 svcs are operated by SBST, using MB OF1113, later passed on to Scheme B Svcs.Originally posted by lemon1974:So did SBS or SBST operate these 4 services? U mention that they are using 1971 Soon Chow Buses, but u also mention that they are operated by SBST?

Apex-LW'21, please see carefully. Lemon1974 is asking you, did SBS or SBST operates the services.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Yes, you are correct. Those 4 svcs are operated by SBST, using MB OF1113, later passed on to Scheme B Svcs.
Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:I don't have the exact date when SBS was renamed as SBS Transit, but the point I want to tell you is, please don't mix up SBS and SBS Transit. Sure, the buses are 1971 Soon Chow MB OF1113, but SBST did not operate SVC 247A, 249A, 250A & 251A , since they were withdrawn by 1986, and SBST was not in operation then!
SBS operates the 4 services in 1979-1986, using 1971 MB OF1113s which were transferred to SBS fleet when the 3 companies were merged & deployed on those 4 svcs when the 4 svcs introduced in 1979.
SBS was formed in 1973, name changed to SBST in Nov 2001.
The above post you have mentioned is NOT SBS operate the service in 1971 but the MB OF1113 buses with 1971 Soon Chow bodywork.

SVC 247A, 249A, 250A & 251A
SVC 247A, 249A, 250A & 251A were introduced in 1979, withdrawn in 1986 as SBS svc, Scheme B took over the 4 svcs.
The MB OF1113s with 1971 Soon Chow bodies were deployed on the 4 svcs, one of it was SBS4095B.

I don't want to argue with you, just to show you that the naming of the company is wrong. Going off topic also. This is my last word on this.

There was no TransitLink in 1986 or earlier. So pls do not confuse everyone...

TL guides will never appear route information on withdrawn services as all 4 svcs were withdrawn in 1986. The 1st TL Guide came out in 1992.

Wait! stop. To stop even more confusion, check ur previous post and see who mentioned SBST in the first place!Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:It was named as SBS in 1986, not SBST.
As you can see on this thread, you would see that SBST had been mentioned in the 1980s & 1990s, people might got confused that SBST was named on that particular year, this might confuse people.
To avoid confusion for some people, SBS has its name changed to SBST in 2001, not 1986.
