What makes SBS9888Y and the other Volvo B10TL different when they have the same bodywork?Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:SBS9888Y has VOLGREN bodywork, while SBS9889U has its own Comfort DelGro bodywork.![]()
Ngee Ann City? Are you sure? All I know was that the exhibitions were held at World Trade Centre and when that closed down it was held at Suntec City Convention Centre.Originally posted by SGEMP:Ya...that exbition in early 1999....held in Ngee Ann City......
Before that cards on this were distributed thru guides racks at all SBS ints.
(I had collected such cards before but I do not know where they had gone to............)
It's because 9888Y came first. It was launched in 1999, 4 years before the rest of the B10TL. It is also the only B10TL with a ZF gearbox and a flip-dot electronic destination sign (EDS). TVMobile was launched with this bus too.Originally posted by TIB529A:What makes SBS9888Y and the other Volvo B10TL different when they have the same bodywork?
1688K was never used on 7. It was used on 36.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:SBS1688K was the first bus before SBS2888T on Svc 7.

For TV Mobile long public trial in 1999 (not 2001), when does it ends?
What about the SUPER RIDERS sticker? I saw that sticker on the far rear exit door of one bendy, TIB882D.Originally posted by SBS9818A:TIB 849B has the Pioneer speakers installed.
The TVMobile trial was conducted in SBS2888T (back then HGDEP 7)

Yes, it is a red decal and a present day ez-link card. LTA PILOT TEST ended on 17 Feb 2001, and refund for all Pilot Test Cards ended on 31 Mar 2001. ez-link card starts it debut on 1 Apr 2002, with the phasing out of magnetic farecards.Originally posted by 105090:SUPER RIDERS?
This should be the LTA pilot test of the present day ex-link card.
The decal is red i guess?
Commenced on October 2000, on services SBS: 222 238 243 261 266 291 293 334 357 358 359 385 TIBS: 300 804 806 811 900 903 911
SBS1734K (315) was given to 261

The sentence in blue seems to say that magnetic farecards were phased out (went out of use) at the same time as the start of ez-link usage, which would be untrue - they coexisted for some months, as your next para mentioned.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:... ez-link card starts it debut on 1 Apr 2002, with the phasing out of magnetic farecards.
On 15 Nov 2002, all sales and revaluation of magnetic farecards had stopped and all passengers must switch to ez-link, as all magnetic farecards will become invalid for travelling from 1 Dec 2002 onwards. ...
I mean the production of magnetic farecards had stopped, as well as the SMRT Thematic Ticket Series.Originally posted by kc_leung:The sentence in blue seems to say that magnetic farecards were phased out (went out of use) at the same time as the start of ez-link usage, which would be untrue - they coexisted for some months, as your next para mentioned.![]()
Smart Rider by TransitLink in 1992? I also saw it on some MB OF1417 & Volvo B57. On Svc 96, mostly on Volvo Mk IIs & Scania N113CRBs.Originally posted by iveco:I remember there was some kind of trial on service 96 using some kind of "Smart Rider" system many years ago. The buses involved had a blue reader installed, but it was subsequently removed.
Not so far back. I am talking about 1996-97. Seen the device on Mk II and Mk III buses serving on 96.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Smart Rider by TransitLink in 1992? I also saw it on some MB OF1417 & Volvo B57. On Svc 96, mostly on Volvo Mk IIs & Scania N113CRBs.
