Do you know when was it withdrawn?Originally posted by 105090:74A was finally withdrawn soon after, as it was no much difference between it and the Original full route 74. since NP is quite close to Buona Vista already..
dont know. i wasnt a regular of 74 last time.. but i saw notices saying it will be withdrawn and its buses will be renamed as 74 as 74A route is no much difference from 74 in terms of the length of the journey..Originally posted by tranquilice:Do you know when was it withdrawn?
So far, I know many HGDEP and some AMDEP services operated this type.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Mercedes O305 Double Decker non-Air con bus
Does anyone has the full list of all the bus services that operated this type ?
Thanks !
Introduced in 1994 (don't have exact date), and was withdrawn on 8th Jan 1995.Originally posted by tranquilice:Do you know when was it withdrawn?
That was the old 74A (HGN-AMK), not the SWT up to NP. The latter was withdrawn due to the closure of the right turn @ NP gates. On the same day AMDEP handed its responsibility of 165 to HGDEP, 325 was also introduced.Originally posted by demag_ac:Introduced in 1994 (don't have exact date), and was withdrawn on 8th Jan 1995.
Service 165 was extended from Ang Mo Kio Interchange to Hougang Central Interchange on the same day.
Hmm.. There was a gear beside the driver...Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The bus in the middle (SBS 5337Y) had a Metal Sections body. The one to its left was the British Aluminium Company (BACo) body. It workings were not confined to 140 as they had been deployed on other services as well such as 133, 132 and 159 to name few. Their 5XXX registration suggests that they were based at Ang Mo Kio Depot.
The first Atlanteans had a SCG 350 epicyclic gearbox with fully automatic control. Later Atlanteans were fitted with the Leyland Pneumocyclic gearbox, also with fully automatic control.
I only know that 410 use to haveOriginally posted by 5454:Did service 410 ever operate on any O305 buses before remember seeing one on 410 before.
165 had O305s since it was extended to Hougang. Previously, LAs with 55**/56** regoes dominated.Originally posted by CAIX:I only know that 410 use to have

I think that 0305 didn't operate on 410, there's 1 0305 on 165, before it eas withdrawn.
from what i noe..there's MK3 on Townlink 357...Originally posted by iveco:I remember not too long ago, Pasir Ris had 6 feeder routes plying the estate. One of them, svc 350 had a full Merc fleet while the others (as well as the rest of BN feeders) had Scanias.
Yes, I think the last 0305 serving on 165 is somewhere on 1999 before it was withdrawn. And mostly, or all single deck fleets are scanias. The DD fleet consist of mainly LO2x .Originally posted by iveco:165 had O305s since it was extended to Hougang. Previously, LAs with 55**/56** regoes dominated.
410 had a close-to-full Scania fleet back in those days. So did many TAP feeders.
That is the gear selector. It had 2 slots, one for Drive and one for Reverse. There are Atlanteans in other parts of the world which had a semi-automatic gearbox but I believe that all of SBS's Atlanteans were fully automatic.Originally posted by sbst275:Hmm.. There was a gear beside the driver...
I think KMB had similar buses bef called the FleetLines
Hmm...Good question. I was lucky enough to stumble upon what I believe was a Bedford SB5 while taking a walk around Malacca Town. It too had a Mercedes badge. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Mercedes. Maybe the buses' owner thought it looks cool.Originally posted by iveco:Does anyone remember the Bedford school buses from the '80s and early '90s? Many of them had Merc badges. Any idea why?
Also, could someone share whatever he knows about Bedford motors?
Hmm, I also seem to remember that the SB also had Merc steering wheels. Anyone can verify this?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Hmm...Good question. The Bedford SB is a front-engined, front axle chassis designed specifically for bus use. It has a drop frame chassis to enable a reasonable low floor height. The SB was introduced in 1951-52 and fitted with a petrol engine. It was not until the 1960s that the diesel engined version, the SB5 became more popular. The engine is Bedford's own (5420 cc) with manual clutch and transmission.

It is not only 357. I guess you've seen only photos of MK3 on 357. In fact, all BN townlinks uses MK3s. But now 222 doesn't use them anymore (exception for cameos). Mercz used to be in BN too. I've seen them on BN feeders like 225 etc. Scanias are majority in the feeders fleet.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:fom what i noe..there's MK3 on Townlink 357...
Mercs used to dominate 350 in 1995/96. Other feeders used Scanias. Later those Mercs went over to 354.Originally posted by SBS9226H:It is not only 357. I guess you've seen only photos of MK3 on 357.
