indeed, use 982 betterOriginally posted by phillipC:882.
A rather wierd number.
wow, how about 962??Originally posted by phillipC:Feeder service 882.
Sembawang Interchange will open on 20th November. Services 167, 859, 980 and 981 will call at the new interchange. Corresponding route changes will be limited to Sembawang New Town area only.
.
The information is gleaned from an internal memo.Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:wow, how about 962??
i think 859 and 981 terminates at SBW interchange for sure, but 167 and 980?? These two svcs will bypass the interchange what you guys think?? They can't possibly be truncated to terminate at interchange as they provide the only links to Sembawang Park and Admiratly Rd West respectively.
don't renumber 167 lah.. that service has lots of history behind it.Originally posted by iveco:Thank goodness 167 and 82 will not meet the same fate. I had been fearing the former might get truncated a la 82 & end up as YCK-SBW end loop service.
So will 882 cover the SBW Int-SBW end sector of 167 & will 167 be renumbered 987?
hmm..if any of the yishun svcs get extended to SBW, then 859 will become redundantOriginally posted by ^tamago^:What's more surprising is the planned extension of either 852 or 857 into Sembawang seemed to not have materialised.
Yeah, prehaps through integration with either 852 or 857.Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:hmm..if any of the yishun svcs get extended to SBW, then 859 will become redundant
maybe they should extend 964 to sembawang
I think the original route of Svc 171 is long enough already and a trip can take 2 hours or more, hence I don't think they would want to extend Svc 171. If you want direct link between Bt Panjang & Sembawang, ask them to extend 187 instead, although chances are not much higher.Originally posted by gorby107:Extending 171 to Sembawang is it possible????
Direct link between Bukit Panjang and Sembawang
yes, they shud have a service that runs thru the WDL Int. ppl frm admiralty have to go WDL and change to take a service towards marsiling (say 187/963) and ppl frm marsiling have to go to WDL to take a service towards admiralty (say 858/965/969).Originally posted by my@jas:I think the original route of Svc 171 is long enough already and a trip can take 2 hours or more, hence I don't think they would want to extend Svc 171. Nah.. it'll create a double loop around Woodlands Loop. Then you'll need some kind of White/Green plate service to do that. Troublesome and confusing.Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:maybe they should extend 964 to sembawang
you are forgetting 911 912 913. plus the MRT.Originally posted by sinicker:yes, they shud have a service that runs thru the WDL Int. ppl frm admiralty have to go WDL and change to take a service towards marsiling (say 187/963) and ppl frm marsiling have to go to WDL to take a service towards admiralty (say 858/965/969).
maybe SMRT shud have a through service into WDL. the one that admiralty/SBW residents need most towards marsiling and beyond.
say if 187 is a SBW - BNL service, 187 towards BNL can pick up passengers at its current berth than move off to BNL. for the direction towards SBW, a berth on the other side of the int would do the trick!
hmmm.......Originally posted by supremebull:you are forgetting 911 912 913. plus the MRT.
yes, so that's why i said "the one that admiralty/SBW residents need most towards marsiling and beyond". so SBW residents need not have the hassle of switching frm bus to bus or train to bus like what they're experiencing now. moreover, a new town takes 10 years to mature. so, more can be done for SBW.Originally posted by supremebull:you are forgetting 911 912 913. plus the MRT.
looking at the northern area it seems that the only route with high demand would be the WDL Checkpoint area <-> SBW.Originally posted by sinicker:yes, so that's why i said "the one that admiralty/SBW residents need most towards marsiling and beyond". so SBW residents need not have the hassle of switching frm bus to bus or train to bus like what they're experiencing now. moreover, a new town takes 10 years to mature. so, more can be done for SBW.
180 is better placed for that purpose. 171 is already quite a long route.Originally posted by gorby107:Extending 171 to Sembawang is it possible????
Direct link between Bukit Panjang and Sembawang
What about extending 960? It makes better connection to Marina Centre for Sembawang residents.Originally posted by iveco:180 is better placed for that purpose. 171 is already quite a long route.
Too long.. Have you tried taken 960 from Marina Centre to Woodlands before? That stretch along Woodlands Road will be too unbearable for Sembawang residents.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:What about extending 960? It makes better connection to Marina Centre for Sembawang residents.
agree... not onli tt, the bt timah stretch is simply a torture... from bt panjang to bugis alone takes 40- 50 mins... from woodlands can die... from sbw i'll rather take 167 or train...Originally posted by PhyrePhox:Too long.. no point extending these service as there is already a 859.Originally posted by gorby107:Maybe extending any of those Yishun Trunk Service to Sembawang Int????
For eg 851, 852, 853...........
Your views on that????
