$100 for a 1979-80 bus guide is simply a cut-throat price.
For a UK-published book which features all the buses in Singapore since the 1970s, a $100 price tag will be more reasonable since it stocks up rare information which both amateur and experienced bus enthusiasts will like to know.
For the bus guide, what is your rationale for selling it at $100? If you ask the senior members here, I believe they will be more than willing to explain the routes of those days and why some of them have been amended or withdrawn.
Is your bus guide of good quality or in pieces with pages coming out? Even if it is of good quality, the projected appreciation of price should be at most $7 to $10, assuming they were sold at $1.00 then.
It makes me wonder whether you are truly out to share your collection with others here, or just out to make a hefty profit for yourself. I question your rationale and integrity over this. -
Honestly, I am wondering whether the copy of yours is a photocopied, manuscripted or an original.
If you are photocopying from the original guide in National Library, you will be INFRINGING COPYRIGHTS. You will be sued for selling such copies.
If you have a manuscripted copy and want to sell them, I CAN EVEN GIVE OTHERS FOR FREE. Sharing is always better than selling for personal interests.
If the original copy is really yours, I have nothing to say... BUT IF YOU ever ever steal it from the National Library, you will be PROSECUTED.
Anyway, the way you are selling and the price is totally UNREASONABLE. What makes you think it costs $100? And for your information, I have seen some stalls in the flea market selling some 1980 old guides for ONLY $10. So what makes you think your guides are worth so much?

Hmmm... $100 for a guide??? Well, God bless you. Very difficult to sell it, for your price = madness. I rather go photocopy or ask other bus fans for info. Thank you for your "kind" offer, but no thank you.

To thread starter: You try selling it on ebay for that sum and see if there are any bidders when the 10 day period is up.

no insults, but $100 is too expensive.. as what they said, $10 or up to $20 is reasonable..
and, when money change hands, theres no mutual relationship, as in bet bus fans, but more like bet strangers.. and, its still a guide book, and not a book by some 19 century great author.. -
