And i think many in Singapore (maybe even in South-East Asia) would not have come across any bus or coach using similar engines as these !
Curious to wonder what's it like if say the V8 engine on the OH 1627 L here is replaced by these OM 404 i.e. V12 of 20910 cc ?!??
If i'm bus modifier i'll likely fix 4 exhaust pipes with 2 on each side like Masarati cars since it's such a large capacity V12 with > 10000 cc exhaust to discharge from each manifold..so justifies 2 exhaust pipes to each manifold ?!
It should 'roar' in silence in the 60 to 100 km/h range ! Top speed expected > 150 km/h if deployed on the much lighter & smaller OH 1627 L chassis ? The i'll call it OH 1644 LS ? 'S' to denote 'special' ! I believe there's a charge-cooled version i.e. OM 404 LA which outputs ~ 700 BHP with few thousand Nm torque ?
Sad to say i'll think, unlike in Europe, in Singapore people only tend to think of the bus or coach only for transport & otherwise don't seem to have much passion (maybe no resources/opportunities too) to 'tingkle' with them !!
By the way, anybody knows how many exhaust pipes used on the Neoplan N138 ?? Not clear from the photos from that website.
