Poll : SBST or SMRT ?

Which bus company do you prefer ? Poll will be closed on 240805 2000 hrs.
For me , I prefer SBST buses . The Double decker buses , mark II and mark IV buses are comfortable and enjoyable buses I like to ride on. In addition, I have been living in SBST's area all these years and I guess I am used to their bus service. Also, the seats are more comfortable then the SMRT's , this is also another plus .
How about you guys? -
I also prefer SBST. I live in one. (JE to be exact) Love DDs. Also like sound of MBO405s and MK IV DM 3500s. Also SBST buses better coverage than SMRT around town (from my area). Best of all, hat SMRT colour scheme and SC. One closed door of his bendy when I haven't got off the bus.
In conclusion, SBST it is. -
For speed i go for SMRT Buses mostly(If the route ply my destination),For Comfortable i prefer SBS Transit.TVM is a bonus for me,Especially for long journey

I poll for SBS Transit. Confortable and smooth rides (most of them). SMRT buses has a lot of weekness. SBS Transit is Singapore's first "True" bus company after the 3 bus company merged. SBS Transit is the longest serving bus company in Singapore. It started off well. SBS Transit also has DD buses wich SMRT buses don't have. SMRT buses only have long bus.

For efficiency: SBST
For comfort: SMRT -
I prefer SBST as I am staying in the NE region and need to take them everyday to school. The seat is more nicer to seat as it is made of plastic while SMRT one most of it fury that is itchy but theirs is comfortable. They have longer operation time than SMRT which now they are not doing any major things after merger not like SBST. SBST is more experienced too.

becos, also i had been staying in their area for 18 years, and they have a variety of comfortable buses, and has a large fellt to keep delays and loads low. (such as high freq and empty buses). also, as what airbus said, its seats are also very comfortable, unlike SMRT's hard cushions.. -
SBST... preference over them bcos i like double decks, n more familiar with their services.

SBS Transit.
If Tibs still exists, I may have a difficult time choosing between SBST and Tibs as both operators are excellent on their own and had real competitions against one another. But now there's no more Tibs and SMRT doesn't take effort in enhancing its bus operations unlike SBST. -

no use for me to vote coz majority stay in sbst area...
my vote goes to SMRT.....coz i stay in BB...
i compare both and feel that Tibs was better...since tibs is now smrt,
SMRT have hard seats but they make up to the passengers wif its better suspension...
no doubt sbst have better seats but has poor suspension for da b1om.... -

TIBS/SMRT my preferred operator over SBST !
But my selection is largely based on the bodywork issue of their buses only as i personally don't find overall too much significant differences in their service quality which i consider as relevant to me.
Therefore because i take the other factors largely as 'constant', the single most obvious difference is the superior class of (most) of the bus bodies used in TIBS/SMRT fleet.
I consider the Hispano bodies overall definitely superior to the Alexander, Duple-Metsec & Volgren bodies is soildness of construction, finishing & trim quality even aesthetics. But most importantly to me the Hispano bodies does NOT tend to emit all those annoying squeaks, rattlling & cracking noises so notoriously famous in the British & Australian bodies which unfortunately consitute the SBST fleet while TIBS/SMRT only have some.
On the majority of TIBS/SMRT fleet, any squeaking, rattling noises tend to originate from loose (non originally standard) fittings but not from the bodywork itself & the probability of getting a bus which does NOT squeak, crackle or rattle is very much HIGHER than on TIBS/SMRT & almost zero on SBST buses !
For me, that alone is excellent reason to board a TIBS/SMRT bus over another from SBST @ a bus-stop if say both going to the same destination i want to go to & same route or time ! Even if that costs a higher fare, i'll still select the same !! I don't mind paying any premium fare for such superior bodywork !
Resolution of any bodywork noise irritants on TIBS/SMRT buses are more obvious & straightforward as such, compared to the situation on SBST vehicles whereby the standard of those bodywork are 'like that' only so what to expect ?!
So overall (for me) because i tend to get (otherwise similar) bus with superior class of body from TIBS/SMRT, i select them over SBST ! In cases when i meet up with a TIBS/SMRT bus using the other bodies, then my preference for TIBS/SMRT over SBST becomes almost nil, instantaneously. Both then roughly equal in appeal to me. -
I prefer both SBST and SMRT as both are equally good.

SMRT buses
SBST screws up their deployments much more than SMRT buses. What's more SMRT buses are much 'speedier' due to their drivers. -
SBST, hands down! SMRT really crumbled with the merger, as the company is more interested in its rail operations and falling behind with their bus services. I don't mind if SBST ran a monopoly on Singapore's bus operations.

Eventhough TIBS has been 'invested upon' by SMRT (my preferred term to use instead of 'taken over' or 'merged' etc.) my understanding from their main vehicle supplier is that the familiar names like Tan Hup Foi, Piper etc. are still running the day to day aspect of bus operations so 'on the ground' i'll not expect much real difference in the quality of the services !
The only noticiable difference to me is the re-painted colours, which i find is a noticiable step backwards because the SMRT colours resemble too much of the old SBS colours ! Notice even TransitLink from JB changed their colours from the SBS-like red & white to purple now. Not surprising, as what's so great about the old SBS colours ?!? Frankly both are equally excellent in their own ways.Both also had their weakest points.
