Citibuzz profitable?

hey guys. everytime i go to orchard or sim lim sq, i always see these buses virtually empty. it's either the BC alone or the BC and... his friend whom he gives a free ride to? lol.
has anyone ever seen it at least half full on the upper deck?
should sbstransit dissolve it and let the VSOs ply on normal trunk services or should we give the services more time?
your constructive views please.

I dun see abt the ads issue
Ads are by right used for add income to bus co.. Not the main income -

there is no "more" exposure in the city if very few ppl board it.

My blood preasure rises whenever i see a citybuzz pass by me. Seriously, a mini van can cater the demand....this citybuzz like no use 1, onli stop @ selected stop, no open top on upp deck like hippo tours, which is wad the tourist like....if not for the ADs....i tink citybuzz cannot hold on any longer....and half filled on the upp deck is 99% impossible, unless a tour bus breaks down, den the tour guide ask them board the citybuzz......lol...

Unless they deploy buses like the open top EPSON DD then maube the table will turn don't you think so?

Even Hippotours does a roaring trade as compared to Citybuzz. The flat fare of $1 already turns me off. I don't mind if it were 63c instead. Even Melbourne's City Circle tram service and the Perth CAT buses are FOC.

The main purpose of having Citybuzz (roaming in the city that is) is to let the tourists to have a good look at the main attractions at in Singapore town. It provides a tour for tourists who may want to explore these interesting places again in cheaper fares.
However, perhaps such demand does not really fare well in Singapore, as tourists may have toured those places with their respective agencies.
What we locals can do with Citybuzz is to use them as a form of links from one place to another. If you don't mind the fare of S$1, it shouldn't be much of a problem.
However, if one minds, why not walk to the place that you want to if they ae just within a stone's throw away? Treat it as a form of exercise.

I totally agree. Why not take VO2x, chop off its upper deck roof, and let it do Citybuzz while send the VSOs down to do other svcs that need DDs.

its fare of $1 is reasonable. a normal trunk service minimum cash`fare is already 90c. also, Citybuzz uses VSO, and also has low loads.
my guess is many ppl avoid it due to uncertainty of route and fares as they may see it as a high end premium service off to nowhere -
They must well use Volvo MK2 NAC on citybuzz as it can be seen on Sv 186 plying around the CBD
