Buses ARE faster than the trains.

  Hello people.
  
  let's collate a list of bus services, where taking the bus frm one MRT station to another is faster by bus than the train! The buses MUST call at a bus stop outside/beside the MRT station or at the interchange near the MRT station.
  
  allow me to start the ball rolling.
  
  Bedok - Woodlands on 168
  Tampines - Woodlands on 168
  Tampines - Yishun on 969
  Tampines - Sengkang on 27
  Pasir Ris - Sengkang on 89
  Pasir Ris - Yishun on 39
  Pasir Ris - Punggol on 3
  Sengkang - Yishun on 965
  Sengkang - Woodlands on 161
  Sengkang - Ang Mo Kio on 86
  Hougang Ctrl - Woodlands on 161
  Woodlands - Eunos on 966

  well they are faster den MRT either bcoz they are semi-express or the MRT trasfer point is too far... E.g. Svc 3 TAM - PGL
  and Tam - Hg is oso faster using 27 u onli wrote till SGK...now TAM - PGL oso can be faster using 34...

  Hougang to Tampines can also be 72..
  27 not really that Fast as compared to 72..

  Ang Mo Kio - Bedok on Service 25.
  
  Edited, as per request. I feel svc 25 is faster than train as train has to take to City Hall, then transfer towards Bedok.

  yup 34 is fastest for tampines - punggol but it doesnt serve the MRT station but it's okay..
  
  yes, any bus service will do. be it semi-express or what.

  hey hi, i live in tampines so i am certain that these services like those i've stated are faster than the trains. perhaps those living in the west and north who are more certain on the bus services there can give their own listings on this.

  Svc 502 from Clementi MRT to Orchard Rd (Thai Emb) bus stop.2 to 3 mins or equilavent fast then taking train to Orchard MRT.

  can see those in the first post has to make use of expressway or stops with no passengers..
  
  all that wont be possible if TPE wasnt extended to SLE, and SLE wasnt extended to BKE years ago
  
  k.. avg time taken for 72 from HG Int to Tampines is approx 25 mins. 27 cant beat that..
  
  and yeah.. HG and AMK is roughly the shortest distance between NE and NS line in the Northe East sector, so generally, most bus services between these 2 places will be faster than MRT, such as most AMK services eg. 25

  if a person had a choice, he would definitely take the fastest one. so, if there're 2 services which are faster than the MRT frm point A to point B, let's take the fastest one.

  any bus service travelling from the NEL to the NSL in the north east of Singapore could be under this category. for e.g, 136, 22, so on and so forth

  Taking EWL from Bedok/Tanah Merah to Outram Park and transfer to NEL to Chinatown actually loses out to Service 12?!
  
  I was furious when I saw the very same Service 12 bus (SBS 9450B) at Chinatown Point while I was exiting from Chinatown MRT (People's Park Centre).
  And to think I wasted 15 cents for a mode which I thought was faster.

  i think its the time wasted in walking to diff platforms and the NEL waiting time plays a big part

  You really don't know there is a place called Senkang??? It is located in the North-east region sandwiched in between Hougang and Punggol
