Poll: Which svcs do you think should be amended/scrapped?

  Well, just pretty interested to hear your opinions on this. Personally I think Svc 502 can be said as trunk instead (amended). What about you all?

  mayb amended svc 27, here how the route goes:
  
  Aft Tampines Ave 5, Simei Ave, Xilin Ave, ECP, Changi Airport [From Hougang]
  
  [Towards Hougang] Changi Airport, ECP, Xilin Ave, Simei Ave, Tampines Ave 5(then normal route)
  
  Purpose is cos Simei Ave outside & opp ITE College East only svc 31.
  
  I know in the past svc 23 pass tampines ave 5 straight to PIE but now pass by temasek poly then ave 10 then bedok north rd then PIE.

  502 isn't fit to call itself an Express service anymore since it no longer plies any expressway. I ever suggested to SBST that it could be converted to a trunk route but they didn't seem keen on this.
  
  Anyway, my take: 12 can be enhanced by extending it to Clementi via former 189 route (Jln Bt Merah, Lower Delta, Alexandra Rd, C'wealth Ave, Sg Poly).
  
  23 can be used as cover for 81/103. It could extend to New Bridge Rd via Middle Rd, Nth/Sth Bridge Rd & Neil Rd.
  
  56 and 97 can be merged. It could deviate via Marina Centre during weekends post-merger.

  56 route is quite short. Less than 20 stages each direction.

  I have done my sums. The number of fare stages would be 43+44, the same as that for svc 14.

  cos simei ave outside & opp ite college east only has svc 31 passing by n the demand is not enough sometimes.

  is there a need to amend 27....doing so will cause longer travelling time....and 32 is doing fine now...bocz onli xtra 5 bus stop and bedok nth rd extension is express...

  31 can cope bcoz onli during peak hours is this 2 bus stop crowded...

  this has been raised many times but i still feel tat it brings ppl nearer to sim lim sq, it save ppl from walking much... and connects jln besar wif serangoon rd...
  
  if i remember correctly, long ago 23 went to orchard rite?

  It provided a much faster connection to Orchard than 65. It was shortened due to SMRT rationalisation. But from Orchard to the East, one has to change trains at City Hall.
  
  Given that 23 plies a large portion of its route on PIE, it could also offer a faster link between TAM and Chinatown as compared to svc 12 if extended down to NBR.

  dont change 23 and 65 anymore. they're mature services that have a healthy load throughout the route.
  
  31 can cope with the ITE College East students. if they're heading to Tanah Merah, they can take 2 or 31. i've seen some students walk to the bus stop outside the Industrial Estate to take 10 too.
  
  i hope 29 can revert back to its original route. probably a new feeder service could be introduced.
  
  Townlink 29x : Tampines Int Ave 7 St 41 Ave 9 St 42 St 43 Ave 9 St 41 Ave 7 Tampines Int Ave 5 Ave 6 St 72 (turn right) St 71 Ave 5 Tampines Int
  
  this service would provide a more direct link frm Int to St 71 and help to make 72 less packed, thus more passengers going towards Hougang and beyond can take the bus. moreover, Townlink 293 frm St 45 Ave 7 can just go straighttttt to Interchange. On the other side, i do not know what to do with Townlink 293.

  you want to extend sv. 12 to clementi ah. so what if u did ur sums. driver's butt still pain after journey what. i as pax also wun wan to take such long journey waste time.. and then where u going to find the buses i ask u? you think so easy just to suka suka extend service ah. your sums incomplete la
  
  merge 56 and 97? you out of your mind isit? 56 and 97 got diff catchment base la. 97 is mainly for jurong peeps to go town quick quick lor. i ask u which jurong peep want to take such long service all the way to bishan. if not butt rot then what?

  I see your comments until I sianz 1/2 liao!U got no more fresh and funny ideas izzit,alwiz post the same old thing.If i BC on 12,and kerna extend to Clementi,I also very sianz 1/2.12 already 29 stages liao,u extend become 40 over stages.U want bus drivers to be exhausted izzit?U very bad leh!Yeah lor,u stay Clementi wat!So u want this svc for ur own selfish sake lor,so bad!Never think of the bus driver welfare.Then 23,wah lao,u itchy fingers wanna extend to New Bridge Rd for wat,got 147 liao.Good enuff.Then 56/97 merge,wah lao,kill the bus driver.56 n 97 serve different segments liao.Now also got 57,so also dun need 2 merge 56 n 97 leh.Well,I remember hor tat the lta dun wan bus companies to have long long long routes leh.So dun tink will extend 12 or merge 56 n 97 lor.

  no need to amend 29 bcoz there are alot of svc which go straight ave 7...having staying at Tampiens all my life, i dun see a need to introduce a new Feeder/Townlink...

  yes, i too have stayed in tampines all my life. 17yrs 11mths nw. try taking 72 to blks700+ and 28/29/293 to blks 400+ during the evening peak hour. 72 would be barely half-full by the time it bypasses the blks 700+ there. 29 would be quarter-full after passing the dunman sec sch bus stop. try gg to tpjc side gate along ave 7 in the morning frn the int. and 293 is simply road-hogging along st 41/42/43 everyday.

  but currently it is able to cope wif the demand....haf the BC ever rejected u and dun let u board? if yes, how often. I took 21 to school for the past 8 years. and during morning peak, 4get about boarding the 1st bus tat comes along...sumtimes the 2nd...

  i've not been rejected by the BC of coz' because i board frm the int. how abt those who take the bus at the library? tell them to go the int? think that is the only possible thing. moreover, there are no more free berths at Tamp Int.
