If the current terminating point (Boon Lay) remains unchanged, Express 502 is highly unlikely to be transferred out of SLBP.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Express 502 could change depot if SBST wants.
yeah, 521 was renumbered 963 and has express sectors along its route. but these express sectors are those which do not contain any busstops along the route(along AYE[busstops at slip roads] and BKE). if 502 were to be switched to a trunk service, then i guess it has to stop at all busstops along holland road and farrer road.Originally posted by iveco:If Tibs could turn 521 into a trunk service, I don't see why SBS douldn't do the same for 502.![]()
For TIBS 521, the demand was really low.. but for 502's case, the demand is still high..Originally posted by iveco:If Tibs could turn 521 into a trunk service, I don't see why SBS douldn't do the same for 502.![]()
Express 502 did use SLBP LO3x for a brief period of time after its amendment in July 2003 to ply the present route.Originally posted by Donavan:Well I believe SBST thinks 502 has not enough demand for DDs on 502 (If not we'll see LO3x on it.) And hmmm, some trunks svcs do not need buses like VO3x and stuff. And SLBP sure doesn't have VSO or VO3x. Maybe LO3x is (hardly) possible?
There are in fact bus stops along Express 521's express sector which includes Hillview Rd, Toh Tuck Ave and AYE. Express 521 did not ply BKE. There are bus stops along AYE which are on the expressway itself.Originally posted by sinicker:yeah, 521 was renumbered 963 and has express sectors along its route. but these express sectors are those which do not contain any busstops along the route(along AYE[busstops at slip roads] and BKE). if 502 were to be switched to a trunk service, then i guess it has to stop at all busstops along holland road and farrer road.
after its amendment & before it was converted to using SBSL buses (PAxxxx regos). Some DD 502 & 502A destos can still be found in the staff lounge in Boon Lay Int.Originally posted by tranquilice:Express 502 did use SLBP LO3x for a brief period of time after its amendment in July 2003 to ply the present route.
that would be duplicating svc7 all the way to Orchard Rd.Originally posted by sinicker:yeah, 521 was renumbered 963 and has express sectors along its route. but these express sectors are those which do not contain any busstops along the route(along AYE[busstops at slip roads] and BKE). if 502 were to be switched to a trunk service, then i guess it has to stop at all busstops along holland road and farrer road.
oh hi, i was talking abt 963 having to stop at each and every stop along 521's express sectors now. sorry i wasnt clear enough on that.Originally posted by tranquilice:There are in fact bus stops along Express 521's express sector which includes Hillview Rd, Toh Tuck Ave and AYE. Express 502 does not ply Farrer Rd.
yes, that's right. if 502 were to be a trunk service, it has to stop at all these stops and it would duplicate 7 and 106. on the other hand, it could also be seen as an alternative bus service.Originally posted by samtlk:that would be duplicating svc7 all the way to Orchard Rd.
i feel that 72 from Tamp Int is fairly frequent enough so passengers wont have to wait long for the next bus to arrive..peak hours 1 bus every 3-5 minutes in rwality but im not sure about the actual frequency timings..i once saw 2 72s arrive at the berth together..how wicked is that?? never seen anything like that..Oringinally posted by sinicker:this service would provide a more direct link frm Int to St 71 and help to make 72 less packed, thus more passengers going towards Hougang and beyond can take the bus. moreover, Townlink 293 frm St 45Ave 7 can just go straighttttt to Interchange. On the other side, i do not know what to do with Townlink 293.
till i have more ideas, good night.
yup, and passengers boarding at the int takes a few mins and so, 2 mins l8r, the nxt 72 comes.Originally posted by 28_29_293:For svc 72 between 1700 n 1830 on weekdays @ tamp int the freq is average 5mins per bus.
I am quite positive that you are mistaken.Originally posted by sErviCe17rOx:P.S.:

sv14 & sv16 from Nicoll Highway.Originally posted by iveco:502 can extend to Geylang Fringe via Beach Rd and become 2-directional trunk service if possible. Currently, there are no direct links between Orchard and Golden Mile. Also helps to provide alternatives to Svc 100 in that area.
Currently, only 100 serves Golden Mile area in both directions. The gradual removal of bus services to Beach Rd over the years (20, 50, 120 & 82) resulted in that place becoming isolated. The shifting of the Nicoll Hwy MRT station due to unstable ground conditions also doesn't seem to help much.Originally posted by samtlk:sv14 & sv16 from Nicoll Highway.
I heard there's going to be an amendment to sv502 by the end of the year.

yeah.. ppl prefer taking buses from Bukit Panjang Rd or Cashew Rd and 921 only serve a handful of blocks in the 20x series.Originally posted by phillipC:I think this 921 feeder service is simply a waste of resources
Nah,It still deserved to be kept IMO Or SMRT Buses will withdrawn them .Originally posted by phillipC:I think this 921 feeder service is simply a waste of resources
Has Petir Rd been extended to Dairy Farm area yet? I believe 921 can be enhanced to serve this area when PEtir Rd gets extended.Originally posted by carbikebus:Nah,It still deserved to be kept IMO Or SMRT Buses will withdrawn them .
