Why do you want to edit your post anyway? Once you have said something to a friend verbally, it has already been said, isn't it? You can't hit an "undo" button then can you? Why should it be any different on a forum? Shame we can't do that here. I don't know how SINbus is being run, cause I don't go there or post there myself. But with regards to the 60 minute rule, I have also encountered forums that also put in this kinda rule. And most of the members are cool with it. Even though I don't know who the mods are over at SINbus, I think it's pretty unfair for you to say that they are autocratic and insensitive. Each forum will have its own rules and regulations. If you want to be a user, I guess you have to go along with the rules and regulations.
Frankly, looking at this forum, I also do not like your attitude. If you're bent on creating trouble here on this forum, I will not hesitate to be autocratic, and this may involve deleting your posts. So yeah. -
I don't see anything wrong with that. There are other forums which I joined that have such kinda restrictions too. OK. It is not like SGForums, in SINbus you can edit your post within 1hr because in case the moderators there might delete your posts. There are times when we feel that we should update our post. If we can only include fresh info on a new post, and the topic spans more than 10 pages, things could get messy and members may feel lost while reading through it.

Well, just now, as I was on the SINbus, the functions"bus captain lounge", "feedback and suggestions", "bus discussions" all these disappeared.
What had happened? (Please explain for me what have happened thank you.) -

IMO the editing function has a limit as such is to prevent the users themselves from editing to "--deleted--" in an event of any flame wars and whatsoever. if the mods lifted this limit they can just delete any tom dick or harry post that ignite the flame war (if there is one) right? what for putting the rule in the first place?
purpose of the editing function is to
1. prevent users from editing their own posts, especially those in flame wars
2. enables mods to keep track/check the post content of the user should none of them be unavailable at that point in time.
i have encountered such forums before and so far flame wars there have been minimal as discussions on issues are more active there.
on the other hand i also understand the need for the user to have it disabled not because u can retype your flame post to "--deleted--" but for other reasons as well. Say your fantasy bus company needs a route information update in the main post or whatsoever. and all relevant examples which i'm lazy to type them now
then again, each forum got its own rules and regulations. just abide by it and get used to it
