I dun tink so. Most likely solely controlled by HGDEP.Originally posted by Acx1688:I believe sv43 will be jointly run by AMK & HG DEP coz i have seen SBS88Z[AM 410] & SBS1909Z[HG 107] doing Route Familiarisations on past Saturdays along Marine Parade Rd
Before making wild accusations, please have more backups and evidence b4 degrading SMRT. I presume u stay in the SBST area. I don't see SMRT based residents complaining and putting down SMRT...i see more flaws in SBST if u ask me....adding more svs dun mean its betta....Originally posted by phillipC:Have PTC ever consider the need of those residents being served by SMRT.
I seriously doubt so.
If the operations rights in those north and west area not given up by SMRT, it will never ever improve. Trust me. A live example is Yew Tee.
Remember not long ago a reader from Zaobao, wrote to the forum page, asking for a direct service from Bt Panjang and CCK area to Toa Payoh and AMK area. The easy way out by the profit oriented organisation is to say there isnt enough demand to justify the service and there is a direct connection using the MRT/LRT network.
Let's reflect what have SMRT done over the past one year.
Only one 950 was introduced to JB
Downgraded the bus fleet from MB to the ugliest and worst bus fleet in Bt Panjang feeders services (namely 920 and 921), after asking for a fare hike and despite the bloody public outcry from the public.
Shortened the 175, and renamed 975
"Display thing'- which is quite reduntant! People want a more decent and better bus connection, which helps to reduce the bus fare and travelling time.
The public are not fancy about a LCD display which shows them where they are. Trains frequency dropped, which is quite abvious for us.
Fortunately, I am not staying in SMRT 'controlled area' either. I do not see his comments as wild accussations. He had stated facts. The number of services SMRT had introduced over the years.Originally posted by muziq bus:Before making wild accusations, please have more backups and evidence b4 degrading SMRT. From the map, the service duplicates service 2 between Changi Village terminal and Loyang Ave/Loyang Way junction.Originally posted by SBS9828X:59 is wicked... but i want to know the route at CV... any1 can help?
hope not simillar to svc 2
Service 175 (975) was actually extended from Choa Chu Kang Rd (skipping Upp Bt Timah Rd) to Bt Panjang.Originally posted by phillipC:Let's reflect what have SMRT done over the past one year.

More off-topic: I find it funny that BP and CCK has direct links to Orchard Road, but not much elsewhere except Woodlands and the West, while Woodlands have links to many places except Orchard Road.Originally posted by Zilchster:Well I don't think the issue should be about SMRT buses or SBS Transit introduces more routes. I don't think it is appropriate to compare both companies on these grounds. However, Bukit Panjang and CCK are quite short of direct bus links to other parts of Singapore.
Don't really understand what you mean.Originally posted by Zilchster:Well I don't think the issue should be about SMRT buses or SBS Transit introduces more routes. Woodlands has no bus connections to Orchard Road? Thought there is a PTC guideline that specify connections to Orchard and Chinatown in every estates? Even Teban has Orchard and Chinatown connections!Originally posted by PhyrePhox:More off-topic: I find it funny that BP and CCK has direct links to Orchard Road, but not much elsewhere except Woodlands and the West, while Woodlands have links to many places except Orchard Road.
I suspect that the PTC may have double standards that enable SMRT to pull the Woodlanders into MRT of their own for Orchard. (WDL and ORC are on the same NSL.)Originally posted by iamgoondu:Woodlands has no bus connections to Orchard Road? Correct me if I'm wrong. The nearest it gets to Orchard Road would be:Originally posted by iamgoondu:Woodlands has no bus connections to Orchard Road? Yeah, Woodlanders can also take 961 for Chinatown, but it is too twisting though.
So why not pull 167 into WDL and replace by a feeder bus when the new SBW int opens? This so for WDL<>ORC connection.Originally posted by PhyrePhox:Correct me if I'm wrong. The nearest it gets to Orchard Road would be:
170: Bukit Timah Road from Newton Circus all the way down to Queen St.
960: Victoria St
961: High Street / Beach Road
A bus that actually goes through Orchard Road is 167 but the nearest it gets to Woodlands would be at Sembawang.
Service 700 used to provide Woodlands residents with a direct link to Orchard Rd. Unfortunately, it was shortened to Bt Panjang.Originally posted by PhyrePhox:More off-topic: I find it funny that BP and CCK has direct links to Orchard Road, but not much elsewhere except Woodlands and the West, while Woodlands have links to many places except Orchard Road.
I heard that this was to make it compete with 190 from CCK which was still with SBST then. Can't confirm that. Was TIBS already under SMRT then?Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 700 used to provide Woodlands residents with a direct link to Orchard Rd. Unfortunately, it was shortened to Bt Panjang.
What happened to them? Where they withdrawn because of the extended Woodlands MRT line?Originally posted by tranquilice:Before March 1996, Woodlands had services 182 and 952 to Orchard Rd.
700 was shortened to BPJ during the LRT rationalisation. By then, CCK was already under Tibs control. The merger with SMRT was not complete until 2001 and the rebranding exercise took place only last year.Originally posted by PhyrePhox:I heard that this was to make it compete with 190 from CCK which was still with SBST then. Yes, withdrawn under the Woodlands MRT rationalisation.Originally posted by PhyrePhox:What happened to them? Where they withdrawn because of the extended Woodlands MRT line?

I think that it should ply on lorong 1 because only service 231 plies the whole stretch of lorong 1 and just recently, there is service 57 that plies on the whole stretch of lorong 6.Originally posted by TIB529A:service 59 should serve Toa Payoh Lorong 6 instead of Toa Payoh Lorong 1.
