Can anyone tell me why service 700 is shortened to Bukit Panjang? It is like overlapping service 190 for about half of the routes.Originally posted by tranquilice:Yes, withdrawn under the Woodlands MRT rationalisation.
According to PTC's Annual Report 1999/2000, TIBS RapidBus 700 was cutback to Bukit Panjang Int as the svc was poorly used between Woodlands and Bt Panjang. Svc 700 is a pilot service.Originally posted by tanjun:Can anyone tell me why service 700 is shortened to Bukit Panjang? It is like overlapping service 190 for about half of the routes.
Is to supplement the overcrowding 190.Originally posted by tanjun:Can anyone tell me why service 700 is shortened to Bukit Panjang? It is like overlapping service 190 for about half of the routes.
As far as I know, they duplicate at BP, along BKE and AYE (not relevent), Whitley Road, Scotts Road and Orchard Road. One travels along Bukit Timah Road while the other travels along Stevens Road.Originally posted by phillipC:Is to supplement the overcrowding 190.
If given the chance, SMRT will definitely withdraw it, as you have mentioned, it duplicate heavily with 190. Just my view.
I agree with you. By the way, just wondering why service 700 is called "Rapidbus" when I thought it is just like bus 190 a normal trunk service?Originally posted by PhyrePhox:As far as I know, they duplicate at BP, along BKE and AYE (not relevent), Whitley Road, Scotts Road and Orchard Road. Whether they have the frequency at 20+ or 33 min, SBST200 had the expected time arrival bus plates. They had taken ANOTHER step in puting up their timetable on the internet for commuters to download.Originally posted by supremebull:giving SBST 8/10 for the initiative to put down route timetables for svc 200 is a bit weird considering that they HAVE to do it especially since they increased the frequency offpeak from 20+ mins to 33 mins.
you really think the route timetables by SBST are accurate most of the time? Case in point, SBST Express 518. Go wait at any bus stop in Pasir Ris and Tampines during offpeak hours. The bus never arrives on time or worse, never even arrives at all!
It used to be called Rapidbus and I remembered they had the arrows >> in the desto. I think it's been changed into a trunk bus some time ago.Originally posted by tanjun:I agree with you. I will if I take SBST200 regularly.Originally posted by supremebull:for? how many people do you think will do that?
The buses are fixed with special devices that communicate with the traffic lights, which makes the red lights turn green faster and green lights remain longer, so that these buses have more "green time" to cross the junction. Also, when it was still a Woodlands - Shenton Way service, it skipped bus stops along the low demand sector of the route such as majority of Woodlands Rd and part of Dunearn Rd.Originally posted by tanjun:I agree with you. hah? really?Originally posted by sbst275:I also find they have avoided the jammed Jln Toa Payoh by skipping the 3 pairs of bus stops by with PIE straight. It would be a useful sv for the upcoming AA2006
I have already taken a look, there is NO Sv 59 on the plates or notice... However, they are already posted on TAP bus stopsOriginally posted by sinicker:hah? really?
By right, it is already clearly stated PIE...Originally posted by SBS9889U:It will not serve Jln Toa Payoh, like 506.
1) risk of unexpected delays: take my trip on last sat. buses always came 2 mins later than scheduled.Originally posted by iamgoondu:Whether they have the frequency at 20+ or 33 min, SBST200 had the expected time arrival bus plates. No route timetables will be accurate at most time. There are many factors affecting the arrival time, traffic conditions one of them. Having published the route timetables, SBST and her bc committed in ensuring the buses arrived ontime.
Since TIBS taken over SBST77, they had decided towithdraw the route timetable busplates (put up by SBST), why?
Outside my Damai sec, svc 59 plates are up.Originally posted by sbst275:I have already taken a look, there is NO Sv 59 on the plates or notice... However, they are already posted on TAP bus stops
