Sometimes, it is either their system got some problem, hence they "forgotten" that you have scanned. There is also time limit for travelling on MRT. If you exceed the time limit, your ez-link card will be rejected by the ticket gate. Yes, there is, but that wasnt my case. use 5 cents coins to pay for bus fares whenever you can, but then you dont pay exact (cos the driver wont count them)

my saying of ez link card damage, is a bit off topic really. that day i went to buy travelling pass, the woman tell me to tap my card when boarding and alighting, just like MRT. If not, card will easily damage.
Sometimes after placing your card on the reader, it may not beep, or take a long time to beep. signs of a spoiled card? not to mention chipped cards, and the plastic peeling off.
Back to fare cheats, well, sometimes some ppl when alighting and tap, the reader ERROR so many times.. wonder how he could had missed tappnig when boarding..
and i wonder hows the proposed law on fare cheats is going on.. going to malu the industry.,. -
me very lucky as company got bus tranport so no need to pay for tranport. work for company that have free transport from your house to office lol

Hey people....
I think that u guys should stop contributing on ideas to cheat bus fares. IN Singapore, our fares can consider somewhat cheap. Some other countries can have bus fares up to few Singapore dollars. If you guys think that cheating your way through when taking buses, think about it. It ain't worth it for you. If you happened to get caught for it, you NOT only pay addition bus fares, and in some cases, u may be charged as an offence!
Also, I hope that this discussion to come to end. As this is a public forum, we shouldn't make ourselves ashamed for discussing such dirty acts. It's a matter of having good impression for not only us, but as well the others who explore this forum as well! So please... This shall come to an end. -
err for adults on some bus the fare is the same no matter when u tap ur card, those neightbourhood kind, so its nvm wad.
as for student tapping early, they kiasu, they still pay the same. most juz tap at the start go down heck care dunid tap fan zhen same fare
the thing i hate bout bus driver is that when u board bus pay 55 cent they say must pay 90 cent even if ur wearing SCHOOL UNIFORM. another kind is those play dead kind act as though ppl not running for the bus, stop 2 second more can make it le -

why cheat? as the VSo guy put it (tat 9816 guy) UK bus fares are much ex. imagine payin sin 3 bucks for a 4 stage bus ride in london.

theres one thnig i dont like about concession ez-link cards.
for the secondary card, when u use it, its a double beep. When the concession expires, and you tap, its a single beep.
for tertiary card, when u buy bus stamp, its a double beep. when u dont buy stamp, and tap as per normal, its an adult full fare deduction but again its a double beep.
BC may be confuse? cos some ppl like to tap alight after they board.
