Disposal of old and retired buses

Well according to some books I had borrowed from TAM reg library yesterday, one of the books about Mainland China's double deckers had mentioned that old SBS Leyland Atlanteans were shipped to either Guangzhou or Shanghai to continue their service life and to supplement the local public transportation there.
So nowadays is there any SG buses being exported to elsewhere when retired?
And nowadays how do the bus cos dealt with the retired buses? Is it only be scrapping the bus for parts? Or anything else? Or other methods? -
All 350 retired Volvo B57 with NZMB and Metsec body were shipped to Ireland when they reached the end of the statutory age of 15 years.
DAFs previously on CSS are now in New Zealand.
SBS Leyland Atlanteans with Alexander L were shipped to HK in 1993 and withdrawn in 1998.
SBS Leyland Atlanteans with Duple Metsec body are now in Shanghai while the 1st generation of SBS LAs with Baco and 1977 Metsec body are now in Guangzhou.
SBS LO2x & MB O305 that were retired now didn't export to other countries, instead they were scrapped for metal and spare parts. -
What about Mk II's that are in the process of being retired?

The retirement period for all 199 Volvo Mk II buses starts from 28/3/05 and ends on 5/4/06.
The 1st 85 buses were retired between 28/3/05 & 21/10/05:
SBS1696L-SBS1780B
Next to go on 9/11/05:
SBS1781Z-SBS1800C
SBS1732R, SBS1793P, SBS1805P & SBS1879B were scrapped.
SBS1867K was converted into HERITAGE ON THE MOVE BUS.

The extension of 2 years for the Volvo Mk II buses means that these buses had their extension to 19 yrs. The first 10 buses had received its extension to 2007, while the last 10 in 2008. Some Scanias were also recently been painted into SBST livery - eg SBS79A, SBS3664R. -

I got to know this from a man who has connections with the SBST depot workers...
Do you know why bus breakdowns are more prominent?
SBST are now maintaining and repairing their buses on a "need" basis unlike in the past where they maintain regularly..
The reason being that they just wanna save costs.........

I feel that this should be the way - Passengers ought to be given free rides whenever the EZ-Link card reader is faulty. And I feel that its time SBST remove the front illuminated display "PAY CASH". Australia's public transport always provide free ride for passengers whenever the validator is faulty.
It's not fair to require passengers to pay in cash or wait for another bus, just because the card reader is faulty. That's my opinion... -

There is no SBS2479R. It a pity we never saw another double decker bus made by Mercedes bring in by SBS.
