One Mk II was sold to NZ (SBS1836A)

The extension of 2 years for the Volvo Mk II buses means that these buses had their extension to 19 yrs. The first 10 buses had received its extension to 2007, while the last 10 in 2008. SBS1696L-SBS1700H lifespan was not extended and scrapped.Originally posted by lemon1974:Maybe u have to go through the older threads. 85 Volvo MK IIs could have been retired by now if the statutory life-span has not extended by 2 years.Originally posted by lemon1974:Maybe u have to go through the older threads. MK II lifespan have been extended by 2 years and only 5 mk II retired this year..

this ones used as cheap transport for pub crawlers..privately owned I think. Not used as public transportOriginally posted by Apex-LW'21:DAFs previously on CSS are now in New Zealand.
No wonder I noticed that some of these buses are still been given a fresh coat of paint, including the MK2 NAC ones.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:The extension of 2 years for the Volvo Mk II buses means that these buses had their extension to 19 yrs. How on earth are they going to keep track of where you board and alight, much less decide how much or whether to issue you the transfer rebate, if all the validators are faulty?! The BC should take the bus off service.![]()
I think a few units of 0305 was exported to other countries as I have personally seen one 0305 at Bintan serving as a "tour" bus from the ferry station to the bintan city back in 1999.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:All 350 retired Volvo B57 with NZMB and Metsec body were shipped to Ireland when they reached the end of the statutory age of 15 years.
DAFs previously on CSS are now in New Zealand.
SBS Leyland Atlanteans with Alexander L were shipped to HK in 1993 and withdrawn in 1998.
SBS Leyland Atlanteans with Duple Metsec body are now in Shanghai while the 1st generation of SBS LAs with Baco and 1977 Metsec body are now in Guangzhou.
SBS LO2x & MB O305 that were retired now didn't export to other countries, instead they were scrapped for metal and spare parts.
Most MB O305 were scrapped in 2001 after its last appearence on Svc 165 & 385.Originally posted by IsIsTRD:I think a few units of 0305 was exported to other countries as I have personally seen one 0305 at Bintan serving as a "tour" bus from the ferry station to the bintan city back in 1999.![]()
Do you know that the scrapping of 0305 starts with rego 247X(X starts from 8 or 9 if can remember correctly) since 1999 and it was done over 2 years. the last 0305 to scrap was 7111T. those 1 or 2 unit that was found in bintan resort should belong to 0305 rego SBS 2479 to SBS 2500 range.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Most MB O305 were scrapped in 2001 after its last appearence on Svc 165 & 385.
There is no SBS2479R. SBS2477X & SBS2478T is two of the MB O305 regos with 247X range.Originally posted by IsIsTRD:Do you know that the scrapping of 0305 starts with rego 247X(X starts from 8 or 9 if can remember correctly) since 1999 and it was done over 2 years. the last 0305 to scrap was 7111T. those 1 or 2 unit that was found in bintan resort should belong to 0305 rego SBS 2479 to SBS 2500 range.![]()
the problem lies with Not Mercedes Benz adn NOT SBST... there was only 1 and only DD bus Model made by them.. the rest was only Single Decks as the Europe Market is More keen on SD rather than DD Buses...Originally posted by ail wee:It a pity we never saw another double decker bus made by Mercedes bring in by SBS.
Have. Maybe not 2477 but should be 2478 and 2479. They are the pioneer batch of the 0305. 2478 or 2479 serves SVC 51 for long time. anyone here could verify this?Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:There is no SBS2479R. SBS2477X & SBS2478T is two of the MB O305 regos with 247X range.
I think it should be SBS2481H in Bintan.
SBS2478T should be the one.Originally posted by IsIsTRD:Have. Maybe not 2477 but should be 2478 and 2479. They are the pioneer batch of the 0305. 2478 or 2479 serves SVC 51 for long time. anyone here could verify this?
