Feeders and Townlinks hotter in SMRT than in SBST

When do the jams occur? Last Saturday, I took bus 856 to Woodlands from yishun area and I reached Woodlands Centre Road at noon but I didn't witness any jams.
Since there are jams there every saturday at Woodlands Centre Road, I personally feel that there is really nothing to do about it unless Woodlands Centre Road is undergoing upgrading or something. I once waited for bus 147 for 30 plus minutes and the bus captain says that the stretch along Jalan Besar has a serious traffic jam and now he just has time to do his business and now he has to drive this bus again. Thw same thing as the congested traffic near Ngee Ann City but I am glad that LTA does something to it. Hope that LTA can find ways to solve the problem of the jam at Woodlands Centre Road. -

187 don't plied Woodlands Centre Rd. 178 already diverted to WDL Centre Rd instead of WDL Rd.
Agree with you. Old WDL Terminal should be used as a looping point to bypass the jammed section for 911, 912 and 913, these services can access to it using the newly drawn single opposing lane in Woodlands Centre Rd, go in, turn out and served the stranded people at the bus stop outside Woodlands train checkpoint. Same goes to 178, 903 and 856.

Then came a year, when the minimal fare for feeders and trunks are made similar. So if a trunk service costs 90 cents (cash) to operate from point A to point B, and the feeder costs the same for the same distance, I see nothing wrong with calling the service a trunk service.
Do note that many feeder-turned-trunk services have their fare stages staggered to be like feeder fares in certain parts, like 101, 112, 113. Even trunk services like 962 had the fare stage staggered (4 bus stops at fare stage 7.5) when it was amended to ply Sembawang Way. Fare stage from Gambas to Sembawang Drive back then was 7.0 to 8.0 or 7.5 to 8.0. -

Only 178 does have the diversion notice, don't remember seeing it on 187.

I think that since SMRT has provided the link from the residential areas within the town itself to the nearest station through feeder services like 800, 804, 806, 911, 912, 913 and so on and besides, the North South line and the East West line are controlled by SMRT which can bring passengers to their destinations and thus it is not necessary to introduce new bus routes.

Like for example: If I want to go to Orchard from Woodlands Drive 16, I will take bus 901 to MRT and take the MRT to Orchard.
Is that why SMRT has few changes to the buses routes or new services? -
