Implications of heavily duplicated bus service 76.
Not much impact on the frequency of bus 76. Demand of bus 76 seems unaffected. Demand of service 43 is almost the same as service 76. -
52 seen using Volvo mk2 DM and MB O405
59 has Scania CAC and MB O405 (one is SBS530M, AM 13 )
43 has Volvo mk3 and mk4.. has many pax -
which services are packed? packed of passengers who really need the service or packed with passengers joyriding?

It is hard to conclude in the first day of operation. For service 43, SBS 863 C is rather packed ( all seats are occupied) after having to wait for nearly 27 minutes.

i see. so it's best not to reach conclusions as to which service is impt to passengers. i remember when 168 was introduced, the ppl who boarded it were families trying out the service (yes, they brought along bread, water).

I took all 3 services today and all I can say that the load is good , at least 50% load on the 3 rides I took today. Service 59 has a potential to operate DD buses, we have to wait and see. Quite surprisingly AMK depot received a few mark II WA buses.

59 has great potential. The bus i took quite full, no seats.

43 loads were not bad for a service operating on the 1st day. Well, still need to see how the loads are on a weekday though
didn't ride 52, will try on a weekday.
59 towards changi village seem to have pax, the bus i was on to bishan didn't have much pax, except a family of 3 of joyrider and 2 to 4 other pax. -
Sv 52 will have to see when NP resumes lesson, now poly all holiday

Today morning when I took that 59 to TPM (Sorry that I didn't make it to CV.) I "chartered" that whole bus for just the fare.
Then when I xed-over to another directn (>BIS) only about 6 including me were on the 59 while it was running on PIE.

Not every new service is like 181 --- packed like sardines on the first three days (although that's because 90% of the passengers thought it was 243G)

Because weekday and weekend loading pattern can be different
But Sv 59 is going to benefit from AA2006, that's for sure -

As for the weekend demand, just have something to say
Weekend demand good (For some stretches) dun mean that weekday loading is good
