Sv 58 weekend loading can be poor, because it serves a lot of Ind EstOriginally posted by delonchew:Come on, give it a break. You expect to judge a service based on its first day of service, and what more, on a weekend?
Remember 58? Ridership in its first few virgin days were pathetic, but now, it's packed like nobody's business in the mornings! And after a month of service, they finally decide to erect bus stops for 58 along Ubi Avenue 3!
ya, and that's probably why the frequency is crap on weekends. i wait 30-40 mins for 58 just last saturday.Originally posted by sbst275:Sv 58 weekend loading can be poor, because it serves a lot of Ind Est
Demand pattern for Weekday and Weekend differs a lot... What to do if there are ppl who wanna commend in this way?Originally posted by delonchew:my point is if you want to judge a service, do it consistently for a couple of weeks/months. don't just simply base it on a SINGLE trip in a SINGLE day.
59 just joined in the 'fun' at Loyang Avenue. Now it just becomes more packed in the mornings.Originally posted by sbst275:I believe for Weekday demand
Sv 43 high demand area is bet Sengkang and Paya Lebar, but faces compeition from 70 and 76 in PL leg
Sv 52, for now poly vacation, Jurong East and Clementi MRT stretch
Sv 59, from what I see, Toa Payoh to Tampines Ave 2 stretch
Or course Sv 59 is now faster than Sv 8 from TAP to Tampines... As for Loyang, new bus link from TAP/ BDK Reservoir Rd to Loyang, it is possibleOriginally posted by delonchew:59 just joined in the 'fun' at Loyang Avenue. Now it just becomes more packed in the mornings.
Any chances that the people who take 59 are those who work in Loyang Industrial Estate?
Waiting 30 mins for Ind like Svs is common nowOriginally posted by delonchew:ya, and that's probably why the frequency is crap on weekends. i wait 30-40 mins for 58 just last saturday.
I didnt see any NAC. I will be observing the fleet of 59 and maybe 43 / 52 if i have time (as they are quite easily reachable for me other than 59, which is at my doorstep.)Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:Is there any NAC buses serving 43, 52 & 59? Since the 3 are new svc, I might not be free to spot or ride on any 3 svcs and to record down the bus fleets.
yeah.. 58 has those orange and white bus stops erected unlike sv68Originally posted by delonchew:Come on, give it a break. You expect to judge a service based on its first day of service, and what more, on a weekend?

Competition? What are you talking about??This is more to cat and mouse game,If i drive S43 along Paya Lebar and if either S70 or S76 infront of me,I would rather follow a distance behind him and allow him to take more pax and would overtook him after that![]()
Still very hard to say for the demands at this moment. Today just gone to school at 6.45 am and saw a bus 43 towards Upper East Coast direction with many of the seats empty while bus 76 and 156 is rather packed with ppl. Although 43 I think is equal to 156 + 76 + extension to Punggol + extension to Upper East Coast, with 43 around, I surely can reach MP more quickly.Originally posted by sbst275:I believe for Weekday demand

The duplication I guess is due to the fact that they want links from HG Nth/ Punggol to PLOriginally posted by tanjun:Still very hard to say for the demands at this moment. Sv 52 has SLBP ex-SBSL O405Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:these new svcs (52, 59) controlled by AMDEP get all the old buses (Mk 2, 0405s) indeed...
HGDEP (43,34) gets newer Mk 3, 4s
