Changi Airport PTB 1 & 2 bus terminal

The latest transitlink bus guide stated that 858 is a loop service with a total fare stages of 85.
But for services like 24, 27, 34 etc hey terminate there according to the bus guide.
So are there any rest point in Changi Airport PTB 1 & 2 bus terminal? If not then where does service 36 park their buses at? -
the buses just park at T2 for abt 7-10mins den move on again. maybe SMRT wants 858 to be recognised as a loop service whereas SBST doesnt.
i think some of us have seen off service 36 parked at the coach parking bays.. -

in the past, all services loop at changi airport PTB except Sv 390

abt 858 drivers feeling tired coz' it's 85 fare stages.. no worries. express sectors smooth-sailing one.. no stress, just stay on lane 3/4.

the bus will still loop, but sometimes they change drivers at PTB 1, so different driver, from woodlands to airport 1 driver, from airport back to woodlands, another driver
SBS used to do it this way with Sv 24 -
The defunct Svc 989 had a total fare stage of 100.5 when converted to loop svc in late 2002 or early 2003.

But their rest at SKG Int depends on their timings
They can rest as long as 5 mins or in rare cases more than that
(sometimes sit in the bus dazing around, go toilet break within this period of time)
If not enough time, they would just continue their journey and would not rest one. -
only svc 36 has crew layover at CGA... all other svcs are loop. the rest time for the BC of the loop svcs varies depending on how much headway they have.

What I want to say is:
1) there are security checks at the entrance to the two PTB terminus;
2) Auxillary police patrols the PTB bus terminals;
3) Usually at the CGA PTBs, the driver would go off from the bus to report to the stationmaster of CGA PTB2, and may thence head on to toilet break.
When the driver is off reporting or off to toilet, doors would be shut, leaving the onboard passengers stranded for minutes, and other passengers to wait outside for few minutes----until the driver is back, then they can get on board.
Once they reach the schedule, buses would set off for destinations all over SG.
4) I did not see any driver change in PTB2 on the most recent 20 October joyride. Usually it's the same driver who would shut all the doors when they were off reporting or having break.
That is what I had observed for in my 20 October joyride in the east. -
too bad that passengers have to wait outside once the BC closes the door.. shows that ppl here cant be trusted to pay fares without any BC watching..
once i took 858, the BC left the door open and went to toilet. some ppl boarded and paid the fare as expected, because the passengers inside acted as "guardians" -
Changi Airport needs a better bus terminal, hope LTA can erect a bigger bus terminal for DDs in conjunction with terminal 3
PTB1 and PTB2 dangerous, lots of people running across the road to the bus berths to catch their buses -
What CAAS should do is build one combined bus terminal for all buses serving the airport, and connected to the terminals by the new people mover being built. This will allow for drivers to have a proper rest break, and also allow double-decks to be used on services such as Sv. 24, Sv. 27 and Sv. 53.

I will prefer if S36 terminates at other Interchanges(ie,Bukit Merah) rather than the loop at Tomlinson Rd.Or S34 hands over to BNDEP!

maybe a new terminal or bus plan will happen next year, with the low cost terminal and Terminal 3 opening. its not possible for buses to: City > Terminal 3 > Terminal 1 > Terminal 2 > LCC > City

I agree with Darryl that CGA needs a proper bus station like the one at Heathrow. Maybe in future when the Skytrain upgrade has been completed, with a boarding point at the proposed bus station.
