You complain when they put NAC buses on a service.
Ok, then the bus company puts AC buses on that service and may have to buy more AC buses.
Then the company raises fares to fund the new buses.
And then people COMPLAIN when the bus fares go up.
It's a f.ucking vicious cycle. When will people learn to get over it? -

You are complaining inefficiently and unproductively. If you want to complain, then write in to the ST Forums. That would be more effective than complaining here yeah. We are not controlling the bus companies. The presence of NAC buses is due to the shortage of buses which SBS Transit is facing due to the introduction of so many services lately (43 52 57 58 59, etc) Would you rather have NAC, useable buses in operation on the roads, or the bus companies to introduce those services at a later date because of a few are whining they they do not want NAC buses on the roads?
No one is whining about you complaing. In fact, its rather apparent that you are the one whining. -
BTW, not everyone thinks that AC buses are more comfortable than NAC buses. I am sure ther are people who prefer NAC buses due to nostalgic purposes. So what if its more comfortable? OUr hands are tied. Indeed SBST 158 has been downgraded, over the years !!!!
Used to be 100% M-B O 405 then the Volvo B10M took over, with their vastly inferior suspension ride comfort especially over the underground line construction areas along Paya Lebar Road, where one's backside gets tossed like hell, with hard jolts thru the spine !! From O 405 to B10M, of course it's an (uncalled for) downgrade, no doubts about it !
Fortunately there's still some O 405 deployed on SBST 28, so that there's still a superior class of travel even @ higher speed over those stretches of lousy roads !Originally posted by iveco:158 is the only service that goes to DHS, meaning it is a school service. An interesting and long-drawn debate. Personally, I would prefer the NACs to be spread out on more svcs, but of course, I doubt it would be feasible. I dislike NACs on very hot, or rainy days, so by spreading the NACs out, it will be like playing Blackjack, waiting for AC buses when I wish to.

can't they use the NACs at night only? after the PM peak to end of operations.. this is the time when most don't mind taking an NAC.

I ever thought of this too. But I think it may be too troublesome due to deployment problems. The BCs need to drive the AC buses back to the depot and then get the NAC bus for night deployment; which lasts for only a few hours. Furthermore, they need to top-up diesel, check-in/check-out the buses, washing, maintenance etc. Also, there's less buses running at night, while the rest gradually returns to its respective depots. Overall, the windows plays a large part on aging.. pity.. going to miss them..
NAC buses are great to ride at night or on cold days.. can also feel the natural climate, see the outside clearer, and no ads to block -

Due to age, 15yrs from 1986-1988, IMO, the mechnical parts that closes the door will not work properly, and there is always a loud slam of the door.
