4) Spotted SBS 2749L on 66 (DM 3500) , is sbs refurbishing the DM 3500's .. cause this bus was special , the seats were brand new and of the same colours used in the new VOLVO BT9L , and they looked awesome !!! -

This mic is part of our steps to reduce possibilities of bus hijack. Even if the mic is cut and destroyed, there are still many others anti hijack gadgets in the bus. The only way to stop that is to go to the batt compartment and disconnect the batteries totally. Batteries compartment cannot be reached interiorly. And by the way, during running engine go disconnect battery is asking for trouble. In time to come, on later models, the mic will be even well concealed. So potential terrorists better think twice before hijacking a SBST bus. It's as good sealing your own fate. -
modern buses, it's very very very dangerous to cut off the power/disconnect batteries. u'll lose control of the bus easily since everything is essentially controlled by the ECU.
even on heavy vehicles with power cut-off switches (usually red in colour and has a seal tagged to it), it must be made known to the driver never to use it if the vehicle is still moving.
and i think i noe which model of bus has its mic hidden and where it is le...

buses, as said, the risk of hijack, dont forget it has a diesel fuel tank. who knows, maybe next time when u walk down orchard rd, some civilians are actually gurkhas...
