This is a weird guy. Keep appearing on 18 when it's first transferred to bndep. After 18 gotten SBS2742E, now it keep appearing on 81. Try your luck then.

3. Not sure whether I asked this before, but it seems like some Volvo B10M MK IV DM3500 buses are quite different from each other, and I'm not talking about SBS 2754X or SBS 2779A. Some have a more "electric" or "futuristic" engine sound than others, while a few exhibit "kneeling" features, something more usually found on low-floor buses. Still others emit a "hiss hiss hiss hiss" sound somewhere from the front axle. What's going on?
Among the DM3500s, 2756R roars like the other MKIVs, and 2697C always have a very long-lag from start, probably torque-mismatch. -
repainted Scanias from BR and AMK.. the badge is left untouched/ unrepainted.. can differentiate from the bedok ones

OK, just came across a video of a smoking (
) SBS Transit bus on route 147 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO7s_SJgHmY&NR). Does anyone know what is the registration number of that bus? Has it been repaired and returned to service?
The bus in the video seems like a batch 2 or 3 Volvo Olympian to me... -

and even so, not all AMK/ BRAM scanias has black badges. those that were repainted long ago may not have black badges..
like 3625D, 3599X etc

Long before the repaint in late-October 2005 (when it was carrying an all-over Giant hypermarket ad) it was on 225W (a BNDEP-controlled service).........
Maybe the BNDEP experimented with the effects of badges when the bus is repainted.............on this bus..............
And I did notice that after the SBS 3684 H.........any repainted BNDEP buses (Scanias especially)would have their badges painted purple, or removed. -

Are the SMRT bendy (articulated) buses equipped with engines different from other 0405N, its submodel. As far as I know the bendies and habits alike are modelled 0405GN. Same engine but with turbo? Engine sound seems different. -

The suffix 'N' would indicate a stepless bus. There are no stepless variant of the O405 here. In Singapore, the O405 have normally aspirated enignes (no turbo) while the turbocharged engine is used on the O405G.Originally posted by jetabt767400:Ah yes, a technical question.

rear-wheel drive is suited for heavy vehicles cos it provides better traction or torque. -

In the first place, why do some services use buses from the other depot? Not enough buses in one depot?
And secondly, let's say the driver reports to BB, then he finds out the bus he is going to drive is going to be deployed from AR, does he have to travel to AR himself? Will there be enough time? And does he return the bus at the end of he day to AR? -

Does Sv852 gets at least 1 O405 cameo everyday? Cos I saw sv.852 using O405 very frequently but by right they should have a full Dennis fleet.

thats why BB buses always found on AR buses and the other way round.. also because of the bus services eg. at Buona Vista, u have 74,200 from BB, but 91,95,32 from AR. At Clementi, 14, 96 from AR, but 99,165, 166 from BB etc
for AMK and Braddell, the sharing of buses are less frequent.. Braddell buses usually on Toa Payoh, Eunos and sv131... AMK is St Michael's, Shenton Way, AMK, YCK -
does a BC know what svc he is going to drive in advance ? . i think so . sometimes overhear that BC going to drive what svc tmr ..etc
but , if he is driving a particular svc for that day , will he get to choose whethere to do split shift or A/P shift >? or will SBST decide for the BC ?
