How actually does the speed limiter work? By holding the RPM of the engine constant? What happens if it's a downslope? Will the bus be able to exceed 60km/h?
In this case yes,It will go beyond 60km/h,Actually you can tampered it to go a bit faster provided you must locked it before handover or park at depot![]()
Not really,But the speedo stuck at 50kmh where the actual speed can be 75 kmhOriginally posted by Y_Shun:So it will give out a 'sickening/irritating' sound anot?
For God sake pls don't stated the rego if you understand what i mean!Originally posted by jetabt767400:Hmm, didn't I note that SBS2780U broke the myth, going at 70km/h on svc 80. Speedometer at 70km/h, true speed only 66km/h. 95% of true speed.

If you see the bus guide for Sv 518 , it is 1 directional from ECP to Bedok North Ave 1 , aft that , continue the usual route.Originally posted by TWS4793:Normally I don't see Express 518 plying on Bedok North Avenue 1. It normally plys on the expressways. But how come did some Express 518 buses going to Pasir Ris Bus Interchange ply on Bedok North Avenue 1 instead? One such case I have seen before was with SBS 1896B. I'm not sure about the date.
So, on the whole, what is Express 518 doing? Why not on PIE but on Bedok North Avenue 1?
return trip. from ECP Bedok exit.Originally posted by TWS4793:Normally I don't see Express 518 plying on Bedok North Avenue 1. It normally plys on the expressways. It should be burnt very near my house, and it should be last year or 2004, cannot remember. That day I should also be at home, according to travel records, but seemingly I didn't heard anything weird.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:I remember SBS1921L is scrapped while on 506? Its not 2005. In 2005 i used to frequent 506 yet i NEVER taken SBS 1921 L before.Originally posted by jetabt767400:It should be burnt very near my house, and it should be last year or 2004, cannot remember. If the bus is towed to BBDEP, I would also know, but no news, until I joined here in July.
SBS71X was on 16? and it was burn somewhere in ECP in mid-1990'sOriginally posted by choww:Anyone knows what service does service SBS3689U,SBS3704J and SBS0071X serve before they are scrapped and which year ?
Does anyone knows the history(if any) of Scania N113CRB (OAC/CAC/NAC) before most of them are in BNDEP today?
Yeah, I noticed that too. But they are only found on the restickered buses (i.e. 525D, 560B, 3810K, etc).Originally posted by chickenlittle2:Nowadays we could see those SBST MB0405 with new rubber tube replaced. What was that replace for? Make the bus looks newer?
If they switched to EDS, problem solved.Originally posted by 105090:this thing had happened for many years already. in fact the present destos/ arrangement is at least the 3rd generation. first was the front desto as present. Then they switched to IN/OUT signs which could be seen on 315, 317 some time ago. Then they removed all front-indications. no desto, no In/OUT. then now the destos are there again.
actually, it doesnt help much. it makes sense that no one will take a St Michael bound bus at Whampoa Road. Maybe it only makes people not to flag nnecessary. but 139 needs it
You forgot about the transverse motor found on your favourite bus as well as most DDs.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Hmmm anyone knows what is the advantages and disadvantages of horizontal engines(Used in O405/G, B10M/B10BLE as compared to straight-inline or vertical engine(Cummins engines)? Horizontal = difficult to manufacture, more expensive?
Erhh transerve is the position of engine, not the configuration. Scania N113CRB has a vertical engine with transverse position, most DDs have veritcal engines as well but have a transverse position. Mercedes O405 engines are horizontal as well as the Volvo B10M/B10BLE. Their engines were "flat" with their cylinders parallel with the ground. The B10M's engine were nicknamed as the pancake engine.Originally posted by iveco:You forgot about the transverse motor found on your favourite bus as well as most DDs.
YES! But in the boxer engine, both side of the engine has cylinders, for e.g. the engine has 6 cylinders, then both side will have 3 cylinders. However in the Merc O405, the cylinders are all on one side.Originally posted by iveco:If I am not wrong, the Merc O405 engine is like the Subaru WRX. Both are mounted boxer-style.
