VLS Trial. Vehicle Location System testing. Oh, Thanks. Does anyone know about VHS trial? I have seen the VLS trail sticker on 156 DM3500s. VHS trail sticker mostly seen on MK3.

It has been amended rather long ago. You can go check SBS's website for the new route.Originally posted by dfs24:Does anyone know if 502 route has been amended recently? I thought it stops at clementi MRT and clementi ave 2 bus stop, however this does not seem to be the case anymore. It looks like 502 position on the bus service board at the clementi MRT bus stop has got 185 pasted over 502.
For 185, only 9 buses are on A/P shift. Unless, there are only 9 buses on 185?Originally posted by SBS BUSES LOVER:185 also all buses are on A/P shifts . usually the first bus @ 6AM is 3873D followed by 3880H ...

Yes. If they wrote 'SPARE', that means the bus is a spare. SBS 0061A, SBS 0063U and SBS 3671U are just three examples. Behind the desto cover, they wrote SPARE, and that means they are spares.Originally posted by XTransbus:how do you check if a bus is an SP or Cameo? i took a nac n113 on friday and they got write 'spare' on near the opening there you need to open to change the desto. The 502 route has been change since Dec 2005. Although it pass by Clementi as an express sector , it does not stop there.Originally posted by dfs24:Oh, Thanks. Does anyone know about VHS trial? I have seen the VLS trail sticker on 156 DM3500s. VHS trail sticker mostly seen on MK3.

This however may bot be the case. For all we know, the bus may be SP last time but it is now assigned as a Perm on some other service. How do you explain that then ? By looking at what is written on the Dash is a very risky way to spot buses.Originally posted by TWS4793:Yes. If they wrote 'SPARE', that means the bus is a spare. But if it's a permanent bus, say my favourite bus, SBS 3721J, they normally put a 'Sv' followed by the number of the service. So if you're to consider my favourite bus, then it's written as 'Sv225'. Anywhere, the operators can write. For double deckers, they write it at the top right han side at the driver's seat, so anyone entering the bus can just see the permanent service number.
May not be reliable all the times. Some bus which have been redeployed to another service still have their former perm status there.Originally posted by XTransbus:how do you check if a bus is an SP or Cameo? i took a nac n113 on friday and they got write 'spare' on near the opening there you need to open to change the desto. Hmm, bndep quite lag in updating status. Go take a look on SBS3695B, SBS3698T and SBS3702P and see what they wrote. It's still a Spare there. However, they are perm 291 and 18 respectively.Originally posted by TWS4793:Yes. If they wrote 'SPARE', that means the bus is a spare. SBS 0061A, SBS 0063U and SBS 3671U are just three examples. Those depots that use stickers are still more reliable than vandalism on bus.Originally posted by choww:May not be reliable all the times. Some bus which have been redeployed to another service still have their former perm status there.

I think because of height problem. Not sure about that but it seems to me that this is the cause.LO3X also.Originally posted by dfs24:Thanks for the reply.
I would like to ask why SBST decided not to have standing areas on their volvo MK2, MK3, and MK4? Is it because the volvos are not suitable? Lastly, what determines the type of bus a route gets? (I am refering to single deck only). E.g, 7 does not have any Mercs, while 166 has Mercs in their perm fleet? Is it due to depot or allocated randomly?
