The bus that you are reffering is TIB425R , This Bus were the first to came into SG in 1994 and it was first on Sv 169. The other one , TIB426 also. And now they were Based at KJDEP (Kranji Depot).Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Two questions regarding MB O405 buses, one belonging to SBS Transit and another belonging to SMRT:
2. Most Hispano-bodied MB O405 buses owned by SMRT has rectangular windows at the rear, with right angled-corners. However, there is this particular one (an OAC bus) with a rounded rectangular rear window. Why, and where is that bus now?

Let me guess, regarding the SBST MB0405, the 2nd gear hums and increases in pitch like the SMRT counterparts and then into 3rd gear, the bus goes whooooo........Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Two questions regarding MB O405 buses, one belonging to SBS Transit and another belonging to SMRT:
1. I once boarded a MB O405 on route 161 (can't remember whether it was a CAC or OAC, but my memory is leaning towards CAC, and likely a cameo), and I noticed that it's engine sounded different from the other SBS Transit MB O405 buses, and doesn't even remotely sound like SMRT's version. The engine's sound is reminiscent of the Volvo B10M buses (especially when decelerating). Can anybody answer why it sounds so different? I suspect that either it's gearbox or engine has been replaced or modified, or has a different configuration.

1. I think you took one of the following OAC buses which have Voith gearbox: 87B, 549K, 550E, 552A, 553Y, 554U, 557L, 558J, 559G, 562X, 564R, 565M, 566K, 567H, 568E, 569C, 570Y, 571U, 572S, 573P, 574L, 575J, 576G, 577D, 578B, 579Z, 580T, 581R. The main characteristic would be its 3 gears are distinct and decelerate with a 'whistle' sound.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Two questions regarding MB O405 buses, one belonging to SBS Transit and another belonging to SMRT:

To prevent long queues on one single boarding berths for SV 179.Originally posted by phillipC:Why there is two queue for Sv 179 at Boon Lay Interchange???
And to prevent long queues of buses if the next 2 sv179 came before the first one even leave. 2 queues = Faster boarding time = Lesser bus congestion + Lesser long queuesOriginally posted by Apex-LW'21:To prevent long queues on one single boarding berths for SV 179.
not alwaysOriginally posted by 105090:so does 179 allows boardings at rear doors as well?
Then which queue moves off first if an sv179 bus arrives?Originally posted by samtlk:And to prevent long queues of buses if the next 2 sv179 came before the first one even leave. 2 queues = Faster boarding time = Lesser bus congestion + Lesser long queues
Most of the time, I see people queuing in the first queue anyway in the AM peak.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Then which queue moves off first if an sv179 bus arrives?
21 and 70, or 81 and 70?Originally posted by 105090:does SBS2621X does 81 and 70 nowadays?

It also says 151 is controlled from 3 depots. Weird, huh?Originally posted by SBS 233 X:There is something weird here..SBS3816U is AM 88??? 88 is under BRAM as what I thought. BR and AM are interchangable. Service 88 appear in the dual-depot link.

Not true. 14 ARBP/BNDEP has 3 SD MK IIIs, but no Strider.Originally posted by ah-soh:is it true that except for sv65, other partially/fully controlled BBDEP/ARBP bus services which have VO3Xs in their perm fleet have at least 1 perm striders as well?
Mi answer is a yes.Originally posted by sinicker:if my ezlink card has low value (let's say, $0.10), can i take NR service home?
