1. What factors led to the renaming of the abbreviation for Braddell Bus Park? (bram --> brbp)
2. Assuming a bus travelling at constant speed of 60km/h, approximately what percentage of energy produced to move the bus forward is lost as sound or heat?
3. Is it correct to call Soon Lee a Bus Park or Depot? What factors causes Soon Lee to be called a Bus Park or Depot?
4. What factors are usually considered for the deployment of models to a particular service? (in other words, why would certain services have certain models of a particular bus?) Is there any bias involved in such a choice? If there is a bias, where is the main source of bias?
Adding on to point #3, the street directory refers to BNDEP as BN bus park. However, BNDEP is rather large for a bus park.Originally posted by Scania:1) Ask SBS Transit, their HQ is there. The code change was since the B9TLs appeared on 21.
2) Ask some engineer at Mercedes Benz, Volvo, scania, MAN and etc.
3) Soon Lee is a full fledged depot, however name is still slbp. bndep is basically just a bus park. Not sure about bbdep.
4) Dunno, ask SBS Transit, maybe depot choose. Fleet management also plays a part. You seldom see am, hg, br, bn buses going to bb, ar, sl. you would most porbably see the two groups of depots exchanging within their own fleet. (ie am exchange with hg)
1.By right it should be called Braddell Bus ParkOriginally posted by Donavan:Another set of questions:

It downgraded from a depot to a bus park when East district disappeared, and Central took over bndep (and Central got renamed East district). Even before that, some timesheets say bnbpa, bnbpb (Fuel Tank 1 and Fuel Tank 2).Originally posted by iveco:Adding on to point #3, the street directory refers to BNDEP as BN bus park. Are those trips scheduled in the timesheets?Originally posted by Scania:Look at 161 and 168, the buses, upon arriving Hougang Central or Bedok in the afternoon, go to hgdep or bndep to refuel (for DDs (amdep buses included)), don't worry, they have estimated how much fuel a bus could use, and made necessary arrangements to the timetable.
Yeah, for the 185 svc plate, it states Soon Lee Depot as the terminal station. But the timesheet still states the last stop as "soon lee bus park"...Originally posted by carbikebus:3.By right Soon Lee Depot,Even BBDEP/ARBP/HGDEP BCs call depot.
I guess they don't want to confuse the general public, so they refer to all of their bus parks and depots as "depots". And rightfully so, since their bus parks also serve as a depot in some sense (I could usually think of a bus park as simply that - a space to hold buses, no more).Originally posted by stooper:Yeah, for the 185 svc plate, it states Soon Lee Depot as the terminal station. 1. 9889U is on service 166, 9810X is still on service 76, AFAIK.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:I guess they don't want to confuse the general public, so they refer to all of their bus parks and depots as "depots". A few questions from me, off the top of my head:
1. Where is SBS 9889U and SBS 9810X now that the B9TLs have taken over/started to take over?
2. With the history of some of our buses stretching as far back as 19 years now, I sometimes really wonder: has any bus ever permed on a particular route, went off it, and then went back to perm on it again after many years? Has a non air-conditioned bus did this after it was converted to an air-conditioned bus? How about reused numbers (for example, a perm on the old route 3 is now a perm on the new route 3, etc.)?
2. I think SBS3644Z was 186 when it was NAC & now it's perm againOriginally posted by eX.A.K.R.:I guess they don't want to confuse the general public, so they refer to all of their bus parks and depots as "depots". I have ever taken 3785 on 130 when it was NAC.Originally posted by off_service:1. 9889U is on service 166, 9810X is still on service 76, AFAIK.

YesOriginally posted by stooper:Are those trips scheduled in the timesheets?
I know the buses that park overnight at interchanges have a scheduled refilling trip because otherwise, they won't even go to the depot for 5 days in a row!
So is it on route 166 or 147? Or is it a spare?Originally posted by SBS3625D:Saw 9889U on 147 on Sat/ Sun night.
166 perm. It cameoed on 147 last Sat. I took the bus on 166 this past sunday.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:So is it on route 166 or 147? Or is it a spare?

My questions:
1) Does the original Hispano Habit body comes with plug doors? (I mean the Hispano stock body, not the SMRT one)
2) Is it true that Volgren Bodies (0405G) are lighter than Hispano Habit body (0405G)
3. Which is faster: DAF or Volgren Bodied 0405Gs?
I meant top speedOriginally posted by Scania:3)If both cap at 60, which is faster? Like asking which is heavier, 1kg of feathers or 1kg of rock?
\Originally posted by TIB1049L:I meant top speed![]()
Faster than tht.. They can hit 85km/h..Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:\
For DAF shld be around 70 (i guess)
Volgren Bendy not sure..
I was in a Volgren Bendy (TIB 1179U) once, and at one point, it was travelling as fast as an SUV that was travelling beside it. I estimated that it hit at least 90 km/h at one point.Originally posted by sBs_boy:Faster than tht.. They can hit 85km/h..
SBS9631X was 56 perm before getting removed to Sv. 17 when the VSOs initially came in.Originally posted by busmanic:1) Is SBS9631X once perm on sv 56?
2) How are those B-signals located at certain junctions being activated? Are there sensors located at the kerbs?
