  eh yesterday i spotted a Sim Lim Square Ad on service 170 when i was at the Woodland Checkpoint... anyone know about that??

  This morning, 5 Feb, I took TIB958U on SV 67. The bus engine sounded different. It sounded more powerful with a bit of gear dragging. Does anyone knows if this bus has a different engine or gear box or something?

  Hmm , It still using the ZF Gearbox , not sure how the sound a bit drag , first time hear this.

  Er..TIB971E got a similar problem. Some SBST's ZF also got this problem. The gear seems to be stuck.

  If you listen carefully, it seems that the earlier Hispano O405s are tuned differently from the newer O405s, i.e. TIB 799 L and above, and the Volgren Mercs.

  gearbox problem. shld be torque convertor cannot lock-up?

  As far as I know, it's either the one where the lockup occurs during 1st gear causing a bit of dragging, or it is the one where I'm not completely sure what's going on except that it's clearly ZF. The latter sounds vaguely like the Voith SBST 0405s.

  It sounds a bit like SBST 0405s just that a more exaggerated version. I think you are correct about the gear locking up in gear 1.

  That means the handle bars are actually fitted at a different direction rather than fitting it for alighting. The odd handle bars are special. Though I don't get to use them during alighting, they are unique actually.

  Yeah, quite a number of buses have different handle bars or different doors. One of the 252 VO2x has yellow handlebars (like later batch VO3x) instead of stainless steel.
  And 1878D has the window of one leaf of the entrance door with square corners, just like 1888A.

  Also, I would just like to confirm that 0405Gs with the Volgren Bodywork is newer than the 0405Gs with the Hispano Habit bodywork?

  Today I managed to board SBS 2825A. I like the interior design inside. I also spotted speakers inside. The problem was why they did not play it? No sound from the speakers! Does other buses with the same ads play the music? Who control this player? The driver?

  Some are newer then the Volgren.. how to spot.. ? Look at the rego.. if the number is higher.. Means Newer.. But do note that this does NOT apply to the CSS buses and 1257C.
