Sounds quite ok, but if you go to the Fountain of Wealth and observe, you'll see that the situation at the convention centre bus stop is really bad, since the entrance to the taxistand/pickup point/carpark is located like metres just before the busstop and the fact that a lot of cars enter that little sideroad doesn't help since the buses usually get stuck behind cars or the other way round when the queue at the bus stop stretches way back to the entrace of Temasek Blvd.Originally posted by 105090:Looking at the traffic scheme, It is better for services to loop at Marina Centre. One idea is for Marina Terminal Service to commence service n such a way that it terminate like current 106, and commence like city bound 36.
That being said, the roads of Suntec City (Temasek Blvd and Ave) look like they can't handle the sudden influx of buses and the potential traffic problems it could cause. The circus traffic can be really bad at shopping hours with the taxistands, pickup points, and the 3 exits all leading in or out of the circus.
Which is why the current system is still the best solution, unless you widen Temasek Blvd and Ave to become a giant 4 lane road in each direction and shift the offending cars away to somewhere. You'll get to windowshop at Marina Centre and see the Esplanade as well when you walk to the Esplanade busstop.
And of course they could always take 133/857/97/111 for a short trip to Raffles Ave -

u walk to take sv56 Raffles Ave, company revenue is 64c. u transfer to 56, is 64c + 39c. so the transport company gets 39cents more.
SO, of course the company will encourage you to take a bus to transfer to sv56 so that they have more revenue! -
In the first place, nowhere in my original post (2nd post on 2nd page) did I state contacting SBST or SMRT about any suggestions or giving feedback. I support walking to Esplanade to take Marina Center services. If any people want to make a transfer that's their choice, that's fine with me.
The main issue at work here with my one liner exchange is not about Marina Center terminal but whether your answers are evidently taken from any official replies from the transport companies, and not passing off your own opinions as their word. -
Cant u just understand that its even redundant to mail to them. Thats the only answer to be given. Ive asked before a simillar question. Their reply was that they cant have direct service from point A to point B for everyone. A transfer is required. I remembered taking SBST195 from River Valley to Marina Terminal on a rainy day. My intention was to make a bus transfer or to take the same bus back to Commonwealth on that rainy day. Unfortunately SBST195 terminating outside Marina Square and there is NO other connecting bus on that bus stop, and I am forced to run in the rain to the opposite busstop.
I regretted my earlier action for not running across River Valley on that cats and dogs morning.
Perhaps there should have some connecting bus services from that bus stop, or SBST195 could terminate at Suntec instead where there are other connecting buses like SBst111. -

If services like 162X or 700A stop there, then there's no way for them to pick up passengers along Raffles Ave since Rochor Rd is one-directional & leads directly to Beach Rd. Plus the demand there is not high as opposed to the ultra high demand along Temasek Ave & Raffles Ave. -
