Basically when a bus is scrapped, the company will receive a scrap value, and these piles of metal will be sold as scrap metals. Voila.

Secondly, the air-con compressors are removed (if Scanias are CAC/OAC)
Thirdly, the windscreen panels are also removed, as well as the windscreens, entry/exit doors and the windows.
Prior to scrapping, the spare parts were kept before disposal. -

after crushing, scrapped metals are sold to junkyard. With the money, companies can do wonders

Same for all reclyclables. THe scrap metal, usually ferrous metal or iron. Scrap already, get recycled into metal again.

the scanias are not due for scrap till another 6 years dears ( iexpect the govt to extend bus life expectancy to 25 yrs by 2007 since this sbst cant buy new buses for its own guts)

if scania lifespan is extended .... i would be very happy.... if extend till 25 year lifespan , i would hope they stay in BNDEP .... as for Donavan's post.... I hope it will not happen...

dun you feel it reflects badly on the bus hobbyists, we like to scrap the buses we hateswuhahahah...(evil laff)
i think you guys may be too young for nostalgia. sometimes when the bus goes one can feel sad because you miss them. for me i still feel a huge void when the B57s went.
i suppose some of you folks might feel the same way in say 2020 when the scanias long gone la.
aiyah distressing leeeh HOW TO scrap somemore... its disgusting that bsues are destroyed when they long gone their due date. have you actually witness a scrapping live? its not a very good experince to lvie through. especially if the bus is one that you like. this brings me to the next problem here>
this topic clearly is started by someone who dislikes N113CRBs. the topic already started. HOW TO SCRAP the poor bus. seems to reflect your OWN opinion. not others opinion. evidently this results in flame wars in the previuos recent ocassions i read thru this place.
seems to be no way to stop this la. u ppl cna voice ur opinions but no one cna stop you...so gentle reminder is contol and think what u need to say before posting. try not to hurt others feelins.

Yeah, the thought of seeing the Scania N113s vanishing is distressing to you. I just hope some of them can be preserved for posterity, considering they were well ahead of their time in terms of technology.
