nope....they queue at the same birth....but there's 2 exits.... observe the pics and try to visualise....hopefully u can understand... -

i do not have the definite or the model answer to that..but based on my observation for the past few days there, (off peak n peak)
39 is slightly more well received....probably due to its longer presence there... -
looking at it.. 39 more passengers.. Jalan Kayu is quite a popular transferring stop more many people.. also, 39 goes to high density places like Pasir Ris and Tampines.
whereas 85 goes to SKG and PGL. both are developing towns with many people working "office hours" so demand not that high -
but it seems svc 85 freq better than svc 39.

965 is already a well estabshed route from sk to yishun already. i don't see the point of 85. at most 85 can cut short to op as a like a 410 and op between sk and pgl new town .

85 to provide linkage between YIS and PGL. Still, I would prefer SMRT to have a bus service between SBW and PGL. -

no choice but must have svc 85 cause PTC last time said they are looking at a svc that will provide links between those towns. therefore SBST created svc 85 by the way i also heard BCs said that Punggol Int very good cause got less bus svc and Sengkang Int the worse, no fresh air inside very bad

there is other different number to be used, why die die must use 85? this is the 3rd 85 i remember... one is hougang south to sim ave (loop), and one is sengkang to habourfront... now this is the third... confusing

Sv 179 was used to be Lim Chu Kang - Bt Timah service. Withdrawn in 1983. AFAIK, 179 is the most re-used number. -

About the 39/85 berth at Yishun.... I think more parking spots should be built just for new services like 85 . I mean everybody's got to to have a personal space.....
