thats an example? have you seen those buses that crawl at like 10 metres an hour on normal routeS??Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:yes u know on TPE, u see those SMRT buses like 858, 969 travelling at the centre lane up to 70-75km/h
whereas SBS 81, 88, 89, 168 etc crawled on the left lane, seems that they can't go beyond 60km/h limiter imposed on their buses
in terms of frequency, SMRT buses really sucks big time
yup. from Tampines, i would rather take 969 to woodlands. the "fast" feeling is there.Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:yes u know on TPE, u see those SMRT buses like 858, 969 travelling at the centre lane up to 70-75km/h

969 freq long no places to sit, squeeze like sardin, until u are only left to stand on the door steps
SBS 161 and 168 DDs most comfortable, can sleep at the upper decks all the way from tampines to woodlands, bus a bit slow nvm, as long as freq good and bus not packed
For me, if I want to go Tampines next time, I will take Svc 969 from Woodlands instead of Svc 39 & 168.Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:freq long bus fast nvm????? lol

when will you make up your mind then?Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:I will prefer SMRT then SBST.![]()
from yishun to tampines, 969 is definitely much faster than 39,Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:[*]

Sometimes I have to wait at a bus stop for Svc 39 between 10-15 mins.
Until October, I always took Svc 168 back to Woodlands. Somewhere in November, I began to make up my mind to take SMRT Buses Svc 969.Originally posted by sinicker:when will you make up your mind then?
969 is very slow from woodlands to yishun, a lot of bus stopsOriginally posted by Apex-LW'21:[*]

When boarding Svc 168, I noticed that the bus is running slow and wasted at least 5 mins to get there due to long frequency. At least taking Svc 969 will be much faster and save time.

969, from woodlands interchange to yishun ave 2 is a tortureous ride, so many bus stops and traffic lights and many passengers boarding and alighting, kan ni naOriginally posted by Apex-LW'21:[*]

Actually, in November, I gave up on taking Svc 39 to Tampines. Instead, I took Svc 969 to reach there.Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:from yishun to tampines, 969 is definitely much faster than 39,
39 stops by seletar camp and can take up to 20-30 mins plying the whole stretch of pasir ris Dr 1
You cannot help it. They're ahead of schedule. System drives everything. If system claims 10 min to the next place, they'll try as hard to go slow/fast as accordingly. You cannot blame them.Originally posted by Vehicle_builder:Why now a days the SBS buses all like engine only got 1cc.drive so slow.Damn irritating late already still have to ta han the bus slow!!!At least SMRT not that bad.
ahead of schedule is certainly a good thing, but from the recent public complaints of long waiting time and bus not arriving punctually, it seems that they are often behind scheduleOriginally posted by Donavan:You cannot help it. I heard that Svc 151 had this kind of problem...Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:ahead of schedule is certainly a good thing, but from the recent public complaints of long waiting time and bus not arriving punctually, it seems that they are often behind schedule
yah! 1 day i took it from khatib to pasir ris damn suay, BC drive damn slow i look at the speed meter, he drive between 45 to 52 km/h on SLE/TPE and wait like almost 1 min then drive out bus-stop even when there's no vehicles wah laoOriginally posted by sinicker:i swear not to take 39 on the expressways already. bad experience.
because the drivers will get penalised for being ahead of schedule, but not behind schedule.Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:ahead of schedule is certainly a good thing, but from the recent public complaints of long waiting time and bus not arriving punctually, it seems that they are often behind schedule
Well... there's an exception...Originally posted by sinicker:frequency long, bus fast, nvm.
frequency fast, bus slow,
That's the problem. They are governed to 60 km/h you see. But if they are stopped by numerous traffic lights, what to do? Can't be helped. JE Int is still stable for this. Ok???Originally posted by Edgar_Davids:ahead of schedule is certainly a good thing, but from the recent public complaints of long waiting time and bus not arriving punctually, it seems that they are often behind schedule
179 at peak hr (morning), the buses came at 1 min freq, sometimes, 3-4 buses concurrently arrive at the berth picking up the studentsOriginally posted by stooper:Well... there's an exception...
Wait till the school holiday ends and take 179 at peak hour...
Up to 1 minute frequencies according to schedule (not because of bunching up) and the fastest time I've seen so far for 1 round was 19min out of 37min!
