SBS Buses SLOW!!!

Why now a days the SBS buses all like engine only got 1cc.drive so slow.Damn irritating late already still have to ta han the bus slow!!!At least SMRT not that bad.

it's a fact that SMRT buses are faster than SBST buses.

yes u know on TPE, u see those SMRT buses like 858, 969 travelling at the centre lane up to 70-75km/h
whereas SBS 81, 88, 89, 168 etc crawled on the left lane, seems that they can't go beyond 60km/h limiter imposed on their buses
in terms of frequency, SMRT buses really sucks big time -

969 freq long no places to sit, squeeze like sardin, until u are only left to stand on the door steps
SBS 161 and 168 DDs most comfortable, can sleep at the upper decks all the way from tampines to woodlands, bus a bit slow nvm, as long as freq good and bus not packed -

err.. when i take 969, let people board the 1st bus. den i queue for the next one. this is going towards woodlands.
for going home to tampines, i would take 168 coz' it stops right outside my house.
168... only fast when going down the slip road at Jln Kayu flyover. sometimes, the most anti-climax thing to happen is the BC apply brakes when going down the slip road.

When boarding Svc 168, I noticed that the bus is running slow and wasted at least 5 mins to get there due to long frequency. At least taking Svc 969 will be much faster and save time.
Sometimes I have to wait at a bus stop for Svc 39 between 10-15 mins.
I will prefer SMRT then SBST.

1 thing good abt 168 is it goes straight into SLE and goes express after only 2 bus stops -

You cannot help it. They're ahead of schedule. System drives everything. If system claims 10 min to the next place, they'll try as hard to go slow/fast as accordingly. yah! 1 day i took it from khatib to pasir ris damn suay, BC drive damn slow i look at the speed meter, he drive between 45 to 52 km/h on SLE/TPE and wait like almost 1 min then drive out bus-stop even when there's no vehicles wah laoOriginally posted by sinicker:i swear not to take 39 on the expressways already. bad experience.

That's the problem. They are governed to 60 km/h you see. But if they are stopped by numerous traffic lights, what to do? Can't be helped. JE Int is still stable for this. Up to 1 minute frequencies according to schedule (not because of bunching up) and the fastest time I've seen so far for 1 round was 19min out of 37min!
i don't believe they actually have a schedule table for Sv 179, it's so chaotic in the morning, 1 whole convoy of Sv 179 overtaking one another
