Possible to walk from Blk518 West Coast to AYE?

I hate to wait for SMRT176, it always a long wait, up to 20 minutes, though the bus frequency claims to be 9min... Waiting for SBST200 is much more pleasant with e-timetable.
Instead of relying on SMRT176, I intend to walk to AYE to catch direct buses there. How long does it takes to walk from BLK518 West Coast Roadto AYE?
Why SMRT 176 qualifies for bendies? -

Do you take 176 daily? Does it stop at ur doorstep everyday? Have you seen the load? The same case for 180.
if that was the case, then i do not see a need for 2,7,65,80,147 etc...to have DDs....
i don't really see the bus being crowded.
now basically, that is jumping to conclusions..
and one of the reasons for late 176 arrival is the Pasir Panjang traffic i suppose. Doubles are prominent during peak hours by the way... -

Off peak: 7 people from JE Int on 51.
4 people on 52.
5 people on 105.
176 deserves bendies. Off-peak not that bad, peak would only be MUCH better.

I had started taking 176 recently, 3 days to be exact. And on most days, I had to wait for more than 15 minutes, my rotten luck? Anyway it took me 15 minutes to walk to AYE, and I believe in future I would walk to AYE to take SBST198. In fact some of my colleagues doing the same thing too. -
bendies/ DDs because, more ppl can squeeze into a bus. then longer waiting time to offset this.
this is seen as a commercially cost-saving method. -

Hmm... i think i know one of the reasons why waiting for a certain SMRT bus can be extremely long.
Ever noticed that the drivers do not fear of catching up with the earlier service, resulting in double...
I'm just sayin this from what i see on 106 and 77..
the drivers just catch up with the bus ahead and never bother to slow down...
once, i took 106 (towards BB during peak hours) and it catched up with the earlier bus at holland rd...
i was sittin behind da driver seat so i maaged to see the timesheet...it seems that the bus was 15minutes ahead of schedule... da driver never bothered to follow the timings and he never bothered to slow down, in fact, he even overtook the bus...
happened many times before....confirm those who missed da bus have to wait extremely long... -
SMRT bus racing. seen it many times on S67. there's a tactic to reaching Tampines Int first. the 2nd bus just follow behind... after Bedok MRT Stn bus stop, you overtake from here and you'll confirm reach Tampines Int first!

Despite having complaining about long waiting time for some SMRT buses, I generally prefer SMRT buses over SBST for their faster travelling speed. Anyway for my journey from Holland V to Pandan Crescent, I would give up on SBST200 and SMRT176. I would take SBST198 and walk from AYE to Pandan Crescent (equi distance from Commonwealth Ave to Holland Road via Holland Ave) instead.
Perhaps bus companies should learn that bus commuters are willing to give up on their bus services if the waiting time is far too long. -
ME lor .... always must wait 30 miniutes to 1 hour just for one ****** 28 Single Deck, courtesy of BRAM. If I miss the BRAM bus, The next bus will be also another SINGLE DECK courtesy of BNDEP. BTW: For every 2-3 svc 8 buses arriving at my Bus Stop, only 0-1 28 bus appear.
