Last time, Sv 170 also experience long queues every weekend because ppl want to go to Johor Bahru, the queues were formed until the overhead bridge near Kranji MRT.

especially our neighbouring countriesOriginally posted by storywolf:What the problem with 5min per bus ? May not be perfect but still good.
Travel to outside singapore, yes see for yourself other people transport !!
i din say gt problem...i jus say tat, no matter how gd the freq is, in this case 5min, 72 still has a long queue, cannot sustain load...even @ 11pm at night...the bus is Full Seating + a few Standee, which brings alot of money to SBST, a cash cow...Originally posted by storywolf:What the problem with 5min per bus ? may i remind you that they also have the loss-making NEL.Originally posted by shade343:WOW? I think I go buy SBST shares
it is almost the same...Originally posted by muziq bus:At least SMRT releases 190 once every 5 minutes just to avoid this situation.... still, the buses are packed.... i don't see y SBST can't do so... utilise the VSO from the Citibuzz la...simple ma... i guess

Must remember that Yio Chu Kang Ter is restricted number of parking spaces & movement of buses so not many buses can going into the Ter at 1 go...Originally posted by 105090:Of course, to maximise profits, longer frequency is inevitable. most important is send a DD, make it fully pack.. no good if send 2 buses, but only half-filled.. might as well make a 2-in-1.
yes i notice that everyday if i take bus home. but the frequency for 72 is quite fast as compared to 162Originally posted by 105090:at 8am today At first i thought.. whoa! some sale going on.. then i go nearer and see.. the sale seems to be ending at sv70 Queue!
on my trip back at 7pm, whoa! 3 more snaking Queues.. more great sales? i doubt so.. and yes.. its sv72 Queue! sv76 is no better! the frequency for 72 must had been near 15mins!

let say 30 min per interval?......
15 min or 5 min interval will not kill u..........

The bus frequency there is at on avg 20mins interval...n that is during PEAK period.
Off peak (after 5pm) u can wait up to an hr.
And most bus services stop after 7pm in Aussie.
Cabs? The distance between orchard to sembawang is abt 30mins (smooth traffic, within speed limit) n will cost abt $14.
In Australia, the same distance will easily cost you AUS$30-$40, Europe...EURO$40.
So stop complaining about Singapore's Public transport. It can be worse.
true tt cars in aussie is very much cheaper than in singapore.Originally posted by hseochin:I've ever taken the subways & buses in Europe & elsewhere in Asia besides Singapore.
Interesting to note of 20 mins to 1 hour frequencies in those 1st world you mentioned. Some 'consolation' then to those in Malaysia that they're not doing too badly despite still being 3rd world !!
But i must say (from 1st hand accounts from people i know who have cars in Australia) that the private car is relatively cheap to have there compared to in Singapore. In Germany i understand people even pay tips to the taxi driver in addition to the regular fare (of course around 70 % taxis there are the standard M-B unlike many elsewhere) but private cars (even an M-B diesel model) there still cheap compared to here.
Which brings me back to my point in an earlier post that with the more expensive private car prices in Singapore, there ultimately has to be far less excuses for the 'less than perfect' state of public transport here.
