As for the driver cockpit, the new steering-wheel design is welcomed but the 'new' Volvo dashboard instrumentation panel looks more backdated than before seeming somewhat DAF-like & still using mechanical milleage counters ?! I wonder how clear the display would be @ nite as such ?! Having seen the new generation M-B dashboard used by HI on JB-KL on their O 500 R , the Volvo B9TL dashboard seems to show 'no improvement' over those from the B10M (seeming the opposite instead) & both not as modern & elegent as that on the O 500 R.
I see on the windscreen the claim of 1st Euro-3 public bus ??
Is that really so ? Maybe 1st from SBST or operators from Singapore ?
But if it's to mean 1st among public buses in Singapore, then (debatably) i won't consider it so. Because with HI's launch of CW3 operating into here, their
M-B O 500's uses engines which are natively Euro-3 compliant but only perhaps 'downgraded' to Euro-2 due to the higher sulphur diesel fuel availability from Malaysia ?! Therefore, on the surface SBST's claim of 1st Euro-3 public bus may seem so BUT thinking more throughly, i have to conclude it's a 'yes' & 'no' claim.
