they switched with Sv 21 these few days. no wonder SBS573P (AM 21) went missing for 2 days and was replaced by 7415Originally posted by lemon1974:7415/7416/7425/7427 are back on SV 76 these few days after more new B9TLs arrive in AMDEP.
purple and orange. its sbst's company colours.Originally posted by TWS4793:And I managed to take this bus today.
Wow! The EZ-Link card reader quite special! Purple colour if I'm not wrong.
Yes , its B10TLOriginally posted by alleggerita:Got a question here..what is the model number for the Volvo Super Olympian, Volgren-bodied one? Is it called B10TL? I personally loved that bus..very comfortable..especially it's air suspension..nice..it will auto-level itself when stationary if the road is slanted..haha..u can feel it more when u are at the upper deck..and u can even hear a slight hiss as the air suspension is adjusting itself..lol..
Today, when I saw 9888Y heading to BNL, the front was FULL to the door because they refused to move to the rear. So the front of the bus was almost touching the floor!Originally posted by alleggerita:I personally loved that bus..very comfortable..especially it's air suspension..nice..it will auto-level itself when stationary if the road is slanted..
So why is there a 'Super Olympian'?Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:Yes , its B10TL
Look at it this way..Originally posted by SBS9806J:So why is there a 'Super Olympian'?
It's just another name.Originally posted by SBS9806J:So why is there a 'Super Olympian'?
Go take the Nissan UDs. I confirm you will like the suspension.Originally posted by alleggerita:Good..thanks for the help..haha..well, i haven't really encountered any reliability issues with the B10TLs..they seem fine to me..and comfortable too..lol..but I'm just surprised that SBST specified the Super Olympians with air suspension..Singapore's roads are a little on the rough side and our buses usually carry a heavy load..an air suspension isn't really suitable..and when the compressor for the air suspension spoils, it will be more expensive to fix..it's much cheaper to fix a conventional suspension on, say, a B10M..just the spring or dampers to change..
Wow! The Dennis Darts also use air suspension?Originally posted by carbikebus:All current SBST buses are air suspension except for Leyland Olympian which only had leaf spring at the front axles only
air suspension is nothing new...Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Wow! The Dennis Darts also use air suspension?![]()
At what time did you see it? Was it during peak hours?Originally posted by stooper:Today, when I saw 9888Y heading to BNL, the front was FULL to the door because they refused to move to the rear. So the front of the bus was almost touching the floor! The upper part of the front wheel was partially inside the front wheel arches, but the rear wheels were high up! The bus was moving so slowly (around 10km/h) along Boon Lay Way!

WOW..U sure all buses uses air suspension except Leyland Olympian? That's quite impossible..I'm sure SBS would have been bankrupted by now if they specify 90% of their buses with air suspension..I don't see B10M MkIV SDs auto-leveling themselves..lolx..Originally posted by carbikebus:All current SBST buses are air suspension except for Leyland Olympian which only had leaf spring at the front axles only
active self-levelling is electronic air/pneumatic suspension with the help of compressed air regulators that pump air in the absorber cylinders...Originally posted by alleggerita:WOW..U sure all buses uses air suspension except Leyland Olympian? quite common... B9s also... esp 147 onesOriginally posted by SBS9806J:At what time did you see it? Was it during peak hours?
Most obvious is MB O.405s, with regards to the sound of "air-suspension". Infact, in Malaysia there's one MB coach the air suspension is like someone breathing loudly.Originally posted by ^tamago^:active self-levelling is electronic air/pneumatic suspension with the help of compressed air regulators that pump air in the absorber cylinders...
air suspension on its own can be easily accomplished by installing pneumatic shock absorbers on the chassis near the axle, which has been around for quite long....
No lah, somewhere around 12noon. It was mostly the students just dismiss from school because CNY celebrations. They all crowd at the front of bus but the back was empty!Originally posted by SBS9806J:At what time did you see it? Was it during peak hours?
CNGs have nice air suspensionOriginally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Most obvious is MB O.405s, with regards to the sound of "air-suspension". Infact, in Malaysia there's one MB coach the air suspension is like someone breathing loudly.MB O.405s air suspension is my favourite..Followed by VSOs.
Nah..haha..I'm 101% sure DM3500s doesn't have auto-leveling air suspension..lolx..The most they have (like what tamago said) is a basic air suspension..not electronically controlled..so it means that it won't auto-level itself..haha..I think the only buses in singapore with auto-leveling air suspension is the VSO B10TL and the Volvo CNG buses..dunno what's their model number..lolx..Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Btw i think MKIV DM3500s have active self leveling right? I've heard the air ssshhhh sound, which sounds like auto-self leveling of the suspension.
The ELBOs had them as well. Here's the exact quote from the old TIBS websiteOriginally posted by alleggerita:I think the only buses in singapore with auto-leveling air suspension is the VSO B10TL and the Volvo CNG buses..dunno what's their model number..lolx..![]()
the "Auto-leveling" on DM3500 is on the front axle, which goes UP & DOWN... (sort of Adjusting the front?)Originally posted by alleggerita:Nah..haha..I'm 101% sure DM3500s doesn't have auto-leveling air suspension..lolx..The most they have (like what tamago said) is a basic air suspension..not electronically controlled..so it means that it won't auto-level itself..haha..I think the only buses in singapore with auto-leveling air suspension is the VSO B10TL and the Volvo CNG buses..dunno what's their model number..lolx..![]()
