Huh? I don't think when the capacity of the engine is 10-litres, it will definitely win a 9-litre engine in terms of power output due to bigger capacity..What if the 9-litre engine was turbocharged and the 10-litre was not? forgive me if i precieve that the torque and gearbox ratios are superbly much better than the VO3x.
having taken Merc Zf 6 speed in Kl and now the B9 i daresay these B9s can easily outrun even taxi at start up before losing to the cab in terms of reaching max speed.
have taken madness speeds B9s. they acclerate fast reaching top speed then braking hard to slow down.
in terms of 10 litre vs 9 litre obviously the 10 litre bus will have more power. in our case i think we are affected by the fast gear change and troque conversion of the B9. the 10 litre VO if unlimited oughto go really fast compared to B9 IF unlimited speed. i mean 10 is bigger than 9 in the long run.

But I do agree that the B9TLs have amazing acceleration..definitely very good acceleration..

Haha..of cuz..cuz it's shorter than the other DDs, so it's lighter..and since it's a NAC bus, it doesn't have a A/C compressor..A/C compressor saps quite a lot of power from the engine..some private buses have 2 engines..got one smaller diesel engine to drive the A/C compressor..but the SBS's buses all use main engine to power the A/C too..so A/C buses weaker..This is just my opinion..may be wrong..Originally posted by kenn3th:'

You ask me........I would say the B9Tl pick-up speed is really quite amazing. But the same cannot be said about the top speed. If I want speed + power, I would definitely take the LO3X. LO3X in my opinion is 2nd to B9TL in pick-up speed, beating even the tridents, sheer torque. Definitely the LO3X is no. 1 on the expressway among the DDs, the bloody Cummins engine can really rev to high disturbingly high rpms for extended periods of times.

btw, spotted 7 brand new B9TLs inside AMDEP. one of them is 7478..
not sure which AM/BR service they are going to deploy on?
8, 22, 25, 28, 31 ,55, 56, 60, 70, 86, 88 , 133, 143,154, 157, 161, 166, 168?
after looking through above SV, it might be sv 88? its LO3x might go to SLBP instead for JIS service?
maybe that the reason that they swopped the VO3x with LO3x first? so that LO3x are transferred to SLBP instead of VO3x batch III?
just a wild guess...

Service 72 is now a WAB service sia. Today I saw a notice at the Tampines Int the alighting there saying '' 72, Wheel Chair Accessble Bus....'' plus with the Yellow line thinky for Wheelchairs somemore.

another point i can think of is for SV 143.
SV 143 now only have 5 buses from BRBP. SLBP might give up some of the control on SV 143 and BRBP/AMDEP can deploy more buses on SV 143 (just like in the past) since it is going to be a WAB service..
So these new B9TLs might also be deployed from BRBP/AMDEP on SV 143 (in addition to the original 5 buses), and thus freeing up some LO3x/MBO405 in SLBP for other service/JIS. this is another possibility. -
but AMDEP is controlling all B9TLs for 21 while BN has none perm for itOriginally posted by lemon1974:hopefully they will be deployed on SV 88.

as changes have been made to bus stops along Hougang Ave 2
