I always end up being squashed. Usually SBS 1959 D is the one hit because it goes back to CLE on its route (After loop) at around 7.30am. Hm look like the bridges in singapore is causing problem DD deployment. I think there are two solutions to solve this long term problem.
The solution are:
1) LTA or government standardize all the bridges' height to 4.5m
2) The SBS use bus models which have a shorter height for the affected routes
How about the tree??

More SDs deploy? Have you taken a crowded bus and seen a emptied same number bus behind or over took the bus u were taking? ( commuters don't know and squeeze themselves to whatever that is coming) -

and can u tink deeper... Yes man and decide the OVERALL HEIGHT of the bus, HOWEVER, THE HEIGHT OF EACH DECK WILL BE COMPROMISED...WHICH WILL CAUSED GREAT INCONVIENCE....AFAIK, there are VERY LITTLE or even NONE DD lower de 4.3m...
SBST terminus or interchange have no problem with bendy buses. Bendy buses are not very stable and thus may not be very convient oso...

the tree...NParks dun wanna trim them...when i ask exactly the same question...sum senior members ask mi a question instead... WHY would NParks BOTHER to bring a tree to a temporary place when SMU @ Bras Basah is being built and plant the tree back after completion? -
For your info, becuase of a height restriction of the Peak Tram Bridge, Hong Kong New World First bus Ordered some 10.3M long 4.17M High Dennis Trident.. but.. side effect is that the upper deck is very LOW.. bad news for those who are TALL..

grandeur, if things can be done so easily, it'd have been done long ago.
the CTE/Lor Chuan height limit is due to the low flyover. there is no way you could get around that without massive disruption or implications to safety.
there is no way we can assist u if u dun provide a service number but generalise. there are reasons why certain buses got double decks and others don't.
the other reason why sixth avenue did not have DDs is due to its slopes. even SBST and SMRTB use only the best possible buses for these routes (10-litres for 156 and 11/12-litres for 77 and 970) to make sure they can climb the slopes. the reasoning is the same for kent ridge crescent in NUS.
DD's below 4.3m is not feasible at all. and if we were to all use DD, frequencies will have to become longer to prevent brunching, and travel time will be lengthened unnecessary due to large passenger movement. a bendy will have very the same issues a DD faces even with an additional door. -

all full high-capacity fleet will not do any good to us. side effects include higher fares to justify higher running costs, removal of existing transport links resulting in longer travel time and loss of convenient links (no more 400m to a bus stop), longer frequencies and eventual removal of low-demand low-profit routes (so u take taxi). -

and SBS BOY mentioned tat there are 4.17m DD, but height in the deck HAF to COMPROMISE...so its very hard to get a win-win situation in this case... -
