he's myopic and wore glasses.
after abt 3 years, he started having terrible headaches and went to a doctor. doctor cudnt find anything wrong with him. and the next time he went to an optician, the optician asked, "you have perfect eyesight. why wear specs?"

Now, they've removed the Epson ad at the back. The back is now SMRT livery... But the sides are still the torn Asia Travel ad...Originally posted by stooper:That ad on that bus is hopeless... SMRT can't be bothered to remove the ad... the ad is all tearing off. They only replaced the back of the bus with an Epson ad... While they can't be bothered to remove the side Asia Travel ad...
so the "theory" is to stare at it in close range (3cm from window) or about 20-30cm from window?Originally posted by sinicker:i dont know if you've read this article.. but i read an article where a person used to take the bus and always looked thru the contravision ads.

i disagree, coz when raining or at nite, the visibility is oso poor, den when u look far from the ads, u oso can c the outside...so it is ard the same...den health..DOES IT AFFECT UR HEALTH?Originally posted by grandeur:Ohz save cost ar, commuters visibility and health no longer important. The most important is profit right? Maybe next time can save money not to have windows on bus liao, then they can put full size pictures to cover the entire bus to earn like crazy. The window nowadays has defeat the purpose. Ohz maybe even no need to install seats and can save more money hor. All passengers can just stand on the bus until thier destination. Save more space and earn more money..
During the night time the visibility is poor, by putting advertisements covering up the windows this make visibility even worse. For raining time the visibility is poor, by putting advertisements covering up the windows this make visibility even worse. Yes sometime can see through the advertisements from far but what if those passengers who are standing are blocking you, this causes inconvenience.Originally posted by alex_cai92:i disagree, coz when raining or at nite, the visibility is oso poor, den when u look far from the ads, u oso can c the outside...so it is ard the same...den health..DOES IT AFFECT UR HEALTH?
the effect is exactly the same as those special black specs which r said to cure short-sighted and r sold in gardian or any health care store. So i means tat u can see throught it...there r different sizes...and sure there is one wif the hole as big as those advertisements. and i haf NEVER miss a bus-stop simply due to the ads bcoz, wif the ads i can SEE THROUGH EVEN I STARE AT IT 1CM AWAY...Originally posted by grandeur:During the night time the visibility is poor, by putting advertisements covering up the windows this make visibility even worse. You said is the same, i don't think is the same. Let me quote one example, Let says you are wearing glasses i use the advertisments that the buses are using to cover both your glasses completely. Can you say the visiblility that advertisements on your glasses is the same as the visibility without advertisement? The answer is simple of course is not the same. Health wise i would say it affected me emotionally which can cause high blood preassure because of obstacle of recognizing one destination which is causing inconvenience.
How do you know? You are eye speacialist? If this is the same as what you said then put it at the front wind screen then see how many bus can crash.Originally posted by alex_cai92:the effect is exactly the same as those special black specs which r said to cure short-sighted and r sold in gardian or any health care store. What you can see from inside the bus & the photos you taken is completely different as you focus on one spot only & there is reflection of your camera flash...![]()
if one is shy to ask, no one is losing out except him/herself.Originally posted by grandeur:There are people who are shy to ask questions.
yesOriginally posted by 105090:singaporeans are very religious. their travelling patterns hardly changes day-to-day.
so, if i am a regular of Bedok, i will always know which number or way to travel, so its not really a problem.. we dont see much ppl looking at bus stop numbers. JB doesnt even has bus stops signs!
for "forigners", they can ask driver or their friends/host.
still, the advertisements cannot be used as an argument for reduced visibilty. because if u cannot see outside clearly in the night, then the advertisements is also no better, it sorts of provides a night-version of the day.
in a way, it provides excellent reflection of the hot sun shining into the passengers.
So, actually, u shouldnt be complaining.
